Description of UV Index

Never let your guard down. Protect yourself from the risks that uncontrolled exposure to the sun can cause. The App helps protect you from UV rays, giving you the level of solar ultraviolet radiation that reaches the earth's surface at your location. Index values range from zero upwards: the higher the value, the greater the potential for skin and eye damage. The UV index was conceived with a view to increasing population awareness of the risks of excessive exposure to solar radiation and was developed as part of a collaboration between the World Health Organization, the Program for the Environment of United Nations (UNEP), the World Meteorological Organization and the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). Make sure you have turned on your device's Location Services and are connected to the Internet. At this point the application will detect your geographical position. The display will show the name of the place and the value of the UV radiation, also indicating recommendations for the level of protection required. [ CHARACTERISTICS ] • Measurement of UV radiation in real time • Location detection • Detection of weather conditions • Recommended clothing indicator for the protection of the sun's rays • Search City • Save favorite places (unlimited) • Ease of use [ COMPATIBILITY ] • Devices: All iPhones, iPads and iPods. • iOS: 16.0 or later. [ SUPPORT ] If you need help, do not hesitate to contact us at info@lionsapp.com, or visit our website at www.lionsapp.com If you like the app, don't forget to leave us a review in the App Store.

Reviews of UV Index

Leave a Review UV Index
  • Permanent UV reading of 3

Even when it is nighttime, this app shows a UV reading of 3….
Don’t waste your time or money…
  • Very Dangerous

This is. Highly dangerous App that could cause serious issues with regard to cancer. If the App does not receive a signal of the UV levels in your area it posts a totally safe message that may encourage people to stay out in dangerous levels of sunshine.
When I sent a message to LionApps about this the response was they post data from their data provider ( wunderunderground) and do not feel it their responsibility if that data is wrong - apparently they do not care if no data causes their App to give dangerous advice. Wunderunderground have confirmed to me by e-mail that the necessary data is not available in the UK. We hence have an App provider more interested in taking money from punters than ensuring they are giving safe and good advice.
I will be suggesting to Apple they look carefully at this provider, at least in the UK, and I will be asking for a refund
I would have prefers to give this unsafe App 0 stars but that option is not available
