Has potential
This app has great potential if it actually worked.
Every time I try and do anything it crashes.
I am using it on an iPhone 6 Plus.
So I expect it to work great, I feel sorry for anyone using this on any phone below the iPhone 6.
Every time I finally finish a page then add a second page I have to close the app and then reopen it to stop it from glitching.
Every time I make a new page it seems to overlap itself with other templates.
Now don't get me started on the templates, it has a great selection but going through the selection you have to already know what each collection is before you even look, otherwise you have to search for hours.
Would be good if we had a way to store favourite template, what even save my own template.
Now adding images is A night me, I press the button and wait, nothing, I President game then you can add to it, then it freezes, then crashes.
I reopen the app I repeat the process then it works, any glitches again then I make a mistake and want to undo? Where is the undo?
I'm so tired of this app I am almost set to get a refund.
I will wait for the next update hopefully it will fix, otherwise it's refund city for me, it's quicker to sketch out my stuff on a napkin and a lot less stressful.Show lessiPhone Aussie
Great creative app
Great tool for storytelling and storyboards.
I use it on the Mac since many years. The iPad version is even more intuitive.
Each version made this tool indispensable for me. The script feature is very good.Thibault: “Cut!”✂️
Worth the upgrade
This used to be a great comic book app. However, after spending a lot of time with it I can't say that anymore. It's super buggy. The will crash more often than it works. Also, when it freezes it's impossible to get your comic back. Until these and many other bugs are addressed I will stick with Comics Head.
Update: I love all the new templates! And they seemed to have addressed most of the bugs. However, there is still a major bug with the old newspaper template. It often crashes and students lose all their work. Also, the app needs a simplified menu for younger students.Show lessIpadeflteacher

This fabulously creative app just keeps getting better, unlike some constantly updated apps (I am sure we've all got a long list of those).
This app supports your creative efforts with some great templates which take little adaptation to make stunning posters, booklets, worksheets and many more into yours creations that will impress everyone. I love to sound effects you get when with the tools.Show lessseanshorts

Artist review: Incredible
I got this after Laura Innes from Paper Wings made a video showing how she uses the Mac version of Comic Life to create the word balloons in her professional comic.
Despite this being the iOS version, I was not disappointed!
I thought the iOS version may be too 'dumbed-down' for artists, but this app is remarkably powerful. They manage the difficult feat of cramming all these complicated features into an intuitive, fast and friendly user interface.
While it's no Adobe Illustrator (if you're extremely finicky about balloon tails, this app may give you *only 2/3* of what you want 😏), this app is more than capable for doing the borders, word balloons and titles for your professional comics.Show lessLulieTanett

I had to admit, the computer version seemed a little overwhelming to me, but this one is so simple, but yet so stunning! I really like the image adjustments!

Very powerful tool
This is what we use for many of the comics within our magazine, Saturday AM. It's a digital manga anthology like many Shonen magazines from Japan and we focus on global creators so--we needed a portable, easy to use platform to develop speech bubbles for comics and Comic Life has not disappointed.
One thing I can say comfortably is that you really need a newer iPad (Air and or Mini4) and preferably a larger hard drive. Too many times on older iPads the app would crash and/or simple features like changing the speech bubble tails (from thick to thin, etc) would crash the app--which sometimes did not save where you left off.
Likewise, after a year of use--I think the fonts and types of speech bubbles have updated once. I'd like and expect more.
Lastly, I don't see how I could streamline the process to export a full comic. Some of our serials can run 20-40pgs an issue and so would be nice to letter them all--save in order and then send out to a cloud storage account in one fell swoop. Perhaps I'm missing the steps to do so but this would be most appreciated.
Otherwise, this app is simply extraordinary -- clean, fun design and far more efficient to use than the web-based version (in my opinion).Show lessBuddy Love
AMAZING!!
As you can see, the app is amazing, and very helpful. So why not 5 stars? Well, like every app that was meant for computers, there are some minor glitches. And like every app meant for computers, it's just not the same. The computer version of Comic Life 3 is more expensive for a reason. It's easier, and most importantly allows you to create and edit more things in detail. The app is amazing, but it could be a little frustrating sometimes. It has helped me, however, in many different ways, and I highly recommend this app.Show lessJackson Kruger
