  • Very good app ... when it works

This app is very smart, streamlined and easy to use, but is not very reliable, especially when using with an Apple Watch. More likely than not, when installing the app on the watch, it will not work and simply give a message saying it is syncing timers from the phone (I have tried re-installing more than a dozen times and unfortunately no luck) but even when I did get past the syncing issue (on another watch) it is very unreliable. Sometimes I start a timer on my watch but it never registers in the app, also, starting timers on iPhone is not reflected on the watch. Perhaps this is deliberate for free users. My watches are both series 3 and paired with two different iPhones.

  • Needs an iPad version

This is everything I need it to be, nice and simple, easy to use, works well. It’s frustrating that the app is an iPhone app though; I would love to see a version which isn’t so blurry and upscaled and awkward because of its huge buttons. If it weren’t for its highlight on the front page of the App Store, I would have never found this app, because it is iPhone exclusive. Also I’d love to have options to toggle each type of notification individually instead of having all three on or all three off.

  • Stops working when trial period ends

This is quite a good app but frustrating at times. Editing time blocks is difficult to do especially if the block length is small (virtually impossible even on a big iPhone X screen).

The worst issue though is that after a couple of months of use, I am unable to continue using the app for free (hyperlink doesn’t work). I’d gladly pay for this app but at £5.99 a month for using 10% of its features, the Pro version is ridiculously expensive especially as all I use it for is a lazy alternative to an Excel spreadsheet.

We always appreciate when our users take the time to leave us some feedback. We recognize that the Hours Pro subscription isn’t for everyone. That’s why we’ve made sure that you can use the iOS app for free. You would still be able to track time for an unlimited amount of projects and send simplified reports for them. If you need more info on a free account or if you're having trouble accessing yours, please reach out to our support team (support@hourstimetracking.com). They would also love to hear about any other issues you are experiencing!
  • I love the concept but...

    Overall:
The concept of Hours is great! I love how easy it is to use and convenient it is to “tap the clock”! The price is very reasonable. I love the versatility of adding projects, tasks, clients, etc. The export to cvs is another benefit!! All very good things!! There are just a couple of things that unfortunately are pretty big things and the reasons I can’t continue to use Hours.

    Bug Report:
The reason I can’t continue to use this app is it doesn’t sync consistently between web browser, apple watch, and iPhone. Throughout the day I find myself manually entering data because time was running after I started it.
It seems like after every weekend, I get a notification on Monday or Tuesday saying I didn’t stop a timer from the week before. Most often, the timer is from Thursday. I know I tracked time Friday, so it isn’t possible I have one running from Thursday. AND now all my data is lost from Friday.
    :-( <<super sad-face>>

    Feature Request:
I have one feature request: integrate with outlook. I don’t like tracking meeting hours. It seems redundant to re-enter what’s already on my calendar.

  • Best time keeping app I’ve used

Love pretty much everything about this app. Great to have a web interface too if I want to dive into the data more. Couple suggestions: allow input for a dollar amount/hr worked and display that in the report next to the total time worked on the individual project. If there’s a way to do this that I’ve missed please let me know! I’m still having to do the math to convert the time to dollars for my invoices. Lastly, would be nice to be able to select reports for only one client at a time during a time period.

  • Like it and worth it

Tried out a week of the trial and subscribed. Less than the price of a large coffee at Timmy’s per week is fine with me. This made time tracking a lot easier and the reports are great.

Suggest adding ability to schedule reports. A weekly summary report sent each Friday at the end of my workday would be very useful.

  • The timer deleted

I downloaded the app, started using it, and when I went back in to use it again the next day, all the timers I had used deleted. Hoping I can remember where each client was at. Yikes.

  • Great

Track all of my editing hours and switch between projects / clients with one press. Colour coordinate different clients and then see a breakdown of the hours at the end when invoicing. Perfect!!

    A great productivity tool!

    Developer Response

Thanks for the kind words! We tend to think Hours is pretty great too.
  • Doesn't work on watch

Constantly crashes on watch, syncs with phone once in a blue moon. Do not use if you actually need to track your time and charge it out as it fails miserably. Great concept just poor execution

Watch syncing could definitely work better – that’s why we’re currently working to improve that experience. Give us a hand? Reach out to our support team and explain what happens when your watch syncs with your phone: support@hourstimetracking.com. The more info we have, the easier it is to fix!
