  • Bug Submission

Since there is no easy way to submit bugs: the calendar does not allow for the editing of custom event timings; all are defaulting to 12 noon on an iPhone X with iOS 15.5. The color scheme on the custom events also makes it hard to read, possibly a conflict with the iOS dark mode.
  • Slow & Crashes Constantly

How can one app be simultaneously indispensable, yet nearly worthless? Somehow, this one manages to be exactly that!
  • It’s 11 pm. Do you know where your children are?

When I was a kid, there were these PSAs that ran at eleven on Friday and Saturday nights that said, “It’s 11:00 pm. Do you know where your children are?” Well, it’s less than 20 days til DragonCon 2019 and the app hasn’t been updated. It seems to work ok, but it’s late, and this year’s info is nowhere to be seen.

  • Couldn’t Con Without It

Don’t know how I’d possibly organize my schedule without this. It’s such a useful tool. I would like updates a little further in advance though!
  • Notifications

Just sent a notification nearly a month after the con uninstalled the app immediately when will ppl learn to not have unwanted notifications
  • Necessary but frustrating

Dragoncon is a tough place to get cell reception. Having the app update in the foreground instead of the background is beyond aggravating. If I need to get to a map or see my schedule, I don’t want to have to wait for the update.
Also the “show more” link is terrible, I missed a bunch of stuff because I thought some guests only had 2 things. If I click on a guests page I want to see all the stuff they are doing, there is no other reason for their page to exist.

  • Mandatory; awful

The app contains a lot of super useful info. It’s also unreliable. It crashes a lot. It occasionally freezes for several seconds at a time, sometimes mid-scroll. When you task switch to the app it will appear to be functional but nothing on the screen will work for several seconds. I’ve developed mobile apps; this is amateur hour.

When it’s not suffering from technical problems, the app is exhibiting usability issues. It makes it a chore to share your schedule with friends, and every year you have to recreate your friends list from scratch.
Every year the main menu becomes harder to use. A few years ago they replaced the text labels on the nav bar with tiny icons that don’t mean anything. This year the main menu is white on a grey background; not high contrast enough to be easily read on a tiny screen in bright sunlight.

Last December Apple briefly tried banning low-effort templated apps. This app is a prime example of why.

  • Crashes constantly

THe information in the app is great, but it’s so hard to use because of the constant crashes
Also I wish the interactive maps/directions were implemented, such a great feature
  • Has the App updated Yet? Asking For a friend.

Good app just got to disable wireless network usage during the day while at con. Update first thing in morning then wifi data usage only and turn off wifi while on con floor. No crashes for an update that fixes some spelling error or changes the banner adds.
  • Broken

I know this is kind of irrelevant NOW, but this app was the source of much frustration over the weekend. It worked fine before the con, but it never stopped crashing when we needed it most.
