New Heart Zones USB Bridge: As technological advances emerge, Heart Zones incorporates these advances into our solutions at no cost but huge benefit to you. Our latest innovation is the new and powerful Heart Zones USB Bridge. This is a seismic upgrade to our current Heart Zones Mobile Bridge. The new USB Bridge is in the form factor of a “USB stick”. It eliminating both charging and connecting to the “WASP” network - those hassles are gone saving you time and bother. Other new features include: •    Minimal Set Up Required - it is plug and play small device •    Connects to 40 Blink heart rate sensors at one time •    If you have more than 40 or want to add transmission distance, simply add one or more additional USB Bridge (4 max) •    No charging cables, no back up battery just plug it in to a USB dongle or any USB port and it works hands free •    Includes:  (1) “Step Tracking” using the Blink or our Heart Zones Strider dedicated to measuring and displaying movement versus heart rate and  (2) “Outdoor Mode” allows the Blink 3.0+ and Blink 24 heart rate sensors to store the data while away from the Bridge and download the data into the Heart Zones Move app when the sensor is back in range of the Bridge. •   Connects to the Apple Watch as participants heart rate sensor (more info below) Changes in the App’s Settings: To better accommodate the USB Bridges, Heart Zones Move version 3.1.0 includes several new functions: •   Two new tabs in the main menu: (1) See the label “USB Bridges.” This label allows multiple USB Bridges to be used at one time. (2) Within the Settings Menu, See the label “USB Bridge Admin.” This label allows you to assign USB Bridges to multiple instructors at your one location. Within this label, you are allowed free firmware updates to your USB Bridge. A visible red “update” icon appears prompting you to update. •   The “plug in and play” feature means you will no longer need to leave the Heart Zones Move app in order to connect to your Bridge making starting a class faster and with fewer steps.   New Individual Instructor Assignment:  Classes can now be assigned to each individual instructors separately using the Heart Zones Connect Portal.  For facilities with multiple instructors, this ability simplifies the process of editing and running your classes. Description of Heart Zones Move

THIS APP REQUIRES A SEPARATE HARDWARE PURCHASE FOR THE APP TO FUNCTION. The Heart Zones MOVE SOLUTION app is designed for health clubs, facilities like health care and rehabilitation, and schools as a low cost, high data management system that seamlessly works with both individual participants or groups of participants and students. The Heart Zones MOVE SOLUTION uses the Apple-operating system (iOS) running on both the iPad and the iPad Mini. Meeting digitally engaged fitness enthusiasts and students where they are today is a challenge for many instructors. The Heart Zones MOVE SOLUTION app is one way to address these challenges and introduce the new smart PE for fitness professionals, physical educators and coaches, and health professionals. Like any smart technology, Heart Zones MOVE SOLUTION app uses smart devices like heart rate monitors, step counting activity trackers, power meters, rower-ergs, treadmills, and indoor bikes and other technology that can result in lifelong healthy behavioral changes - after all -- isn't that what we all want to achieve. The Heart Zones MOVE SOLUTION is one part of the three parts for the complete solution: (1) Curriculum and methodology (2) Professional development including workshops, seminars, and certificate-based education (3) Apps and technology for groups and individuals-user This low cost, high data management system works with ease with any and all of your classes using either ANT+ or BLE (bluetooth) sensors. In addition, individual students and participants can download for free an individual-user iOS app, Heart Zones Training, to use when away from the group or the instructor: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/heart-zones-training/id846768885 The Heart Zones MOVE SOLUTION app stores and displays data using your iPad and iPad Mini serving as a data management system. This allows you to track, measure, monitor, save, store, and manage your participants and student's physical activity data. Heart Zones MOVE SOLUTION uses mobile technologies to provide real-time feedback by displaying data such as heart rate, speed, distance, steps per minute (SPM), and revolutions per minute (RPM). The app includes five different embedded or body-worn sensors: (1) Heart rate sensors (2) Step counting activity sensors (3) Cycling sensors: RPM (revolutions per minute) and power meters (4) Treadmill sensors: number of steps, steps per minute (cadence), pace, speed, distance and more. (5) Rower sensors: Strokes per minute, pace per 500 meters, distance, heart rate, and more. Students’ data can be displayed on a “Big Board” such as a large flat screen TV or on the wall or screen, using a projector connected to the iPad device. Individual student "tiles" are displayed using numbers, color gradients, and graphic data, which change continuously as the participant moves, changes speed or pacer, increases or decreases SPM (strokes per minute for rowers), effort (heart rate). Heart Zones is the first to introduce the "flipped Big Board". That is, the instructor is given the choice between 3 to 4 different data displays to keep the class fresh and provide both gamification and goal setting activities. For example, the instructor can display assessments like recovery heart rate for participants to visually use the biofeedback to improve their fitness. Heart Zones is the first app that auto-sets all participants heart rate zones based on a simple and short individual and personal assessment called "Save the Peak". If you want technology-enabled motivation and engagement for your participants, the Heart Zones MOVE SOLUTION app is a tool that gives you real-time fitness data. This should lead to increased quality (learning experiences) and quantity (exercise time) of your classes no matter what activity you select. Heart Zones MOVE SOLUTION is motivational and engaging. It is a game changer.

Reviews of Heart Zones Move

  • Great App and Company

I have been a customer since 2016 and have always felt this was a great purchase with my grant money. Students are interested, the tech is easy and it validates and gives feedback that paretns and students can access 24/7 about the exercise students do (or don't) in class.

The recent update to the portal has long been wanted (at least by me) and the fact that they are so responsive to requests or issues that it just adds more value to their product.

They are also innovative by using open source programming and developing a new bridge to allow students with Apple watches to use their own devices, adding to the number of students that can have a devide in each class.

The company has many webinars to lean about the program and ways to use it and teach it to others. Sal Edwards (the president, I think) has even visited many teachers to observe the program getting used and get feedback from teachers about changes or additions they would like to see.

The product evolves, unlike the 3 previous sets of HRM's I have purchased through grants (Polar, Garmin, and a 3rd I can't remember) and makes using them in a class easy and adjustable on-the-fly.

Many products as well to support the App and program from books to videos, to webinars to in-person training classes makes not just the app but whole company one that I will continue to do business with and refer others to.
  • Amazing app for group heart rate collection

The only app I’ve seen that will collect and display real time Heart Rate data for multiple participants simultaneously. Easy to use interface, great customer service.
  • Wi-Fi mode issues. Please help.

My school district IT department and I cannot get this system to work in Wi-Fi mode. I am starting to think this is an app development problem but maybe with a review I can get some help. Heart Zone Inc has told us over and over again we have to whitelist things and we did everything they said. Still not working. We can get the bridges to connect to Wi-Fi but they won’t send the information back to the IPad, brand new IPad by the way. We were then told just use stand alone mode. Stand alone mode works just fine but then I cannot use most of the awesome features that heart zone advertise. This system isn’t individualized anymore because I can’t save students max heart rate, class notes and I do not have the time to input 300+ students individual max heart rate. I also can’t use the automatic email system so students and families can get their data. Developers at Heart Zone please help fix this issue. I know it cannot be just my school district. I applied for a grant to get your product and put in a lot of work to get to get it. Right now if another Phy Ed teacher asked for heart rate monitor suggestion I would not suggest Heart Zone Inc. Teachers do not have a lot time as is and all the extra time I am putting in to try and fix this issue with little to no help is getting exhausting. Might have to do a full return. If anyone reads this review and has a solution to any of this please place a review as well. I will be checking reviews everyday.

    Developer Response

Hi Eric, the last time that we were in contact with your IT department was on November 16 and at that time we sent him an advanced guide for connecting the Bridge to your network. We have not heard anything back from him stating that you were still having an issue. We would be more than happy to work with you to correct this issue, but you have to contact us to let us know that there is still an issue. You can either contact me at joe.gooden@heartzones.com or our support team at support@heartzones.com. As far as using Heart Zones Move in “stand alone mode”, which means no need to connect to a Wi-Fi network, all our advertised features work perfectly. None of our features require being connected to a Wi-Fi network. The application was actually designed with this in mind and most of our teachers prefer running the application in “stand alone mode”. This is mainly due to the lack of strong Wi-Fi networks in a lot of gyms or outdoors. I would be happy to review all the features with you and how they function in "stand alone mode." As far as individualizing student’s heart rate zones, there has been no reported issues by any teachers of this taking place. The only time zones cannot be changed is when an active class is in progress. When a class is not running, heart rate zones can be updated manually participant by participant or you can do a mass update by importing a csv file to update student’s zones at one time. Heart Zones Move actually has a feature that no other system has that allows teachers to running a class and preform an activity such as the PACER test that will capture your students peak/Max heart rate and it will set your student’s heart rate zones based on their true ability all at one time. This means you’re not guesses on heart rate zones or using any type of formula which are not correct for all students. I would also be happy to address any other issues that you are having such as emails not being sent to your parents. We just need to hear from you to be able to address these issues. Thank you for your feedback and please either contact me at joe.gooden@heartzones.com or our support team at support@heartzones.com. We look forward to helping you in any manner necessary.
