writing a review to hopefully be apart of the force that influences the return of 8tracks. this app really got me passionate about listening to music. playlists for all sorts of moods and vibes and the tagging system to find those playlists beats any other app. it expanded my music taste so much and introduced me to some of my favorite songs. absolutely loved this app, was heartbroken when i discovered it was gone. was a very big part of my life during some very formative years.

I have been having a huge problem with signing up to be on 8tracks. For about two days. I decided that I wanted to come back on 8tracks again after not being on there for a few years. But now I don’t see it possible for some reason.
Hoping but ready to cancel
I’m hoping against hope that this best-of-all-time music app will resurrect—I’m not interested in ANY other music streaming service, and I’m sure other diehard 8tracks users will understand me there—but as it stands I’m frustrated to see that I’ve been charged month after month for an app which is functionally dead. I’ve never felt this degree of loyalty toward any purchasable good or service; I’ll sign up immediately if it ever comes back to life. But currently it’s a remarkable oversight to continue to charge users’ accounts postmortem.

I believe in supporting smaller businesses. I had adored 8tracks as a child. I love the ability to make and add my own tags to radios! When it became to roll out a premium with ads, I was rageful. I understand as adult what caused this decision to change. Give 8tracks a chance over spotify. It's PROBABLY CHEAPER ANYWAYS GUYS COME ONNNN

Still hoping
No longer operational - but I don’t want to delete the app off my phone. This was always my top choice for streaming music. Gave the best mix suggestions for any mood and I was constantly being introduced to new music and artists without being bogged down by only the mainstream songs and artists. I truly hope that this isn’t the end for what I considered to be the top choice for a music streaming service. Thank you for the years of listening, please say there will still be more.

There is something of a certain grief that the app that’s been with me since high school to my early college years that completely changed the way I consume music and how I structure it, seemingly have the plug been pulled.
Im in a state I’m vaguely at peace with it never returning. It’s been fighting for its life ever since it was restricted to the US only, and then only kept fighting for my life after 2020. But it’s still sad to see it just gone.
Maybe one day there’ll be another app that is music for music enjoyers rather than a nasty algorithm system like 8tracks. I hope the makers make the descion to take the app off the store if there is genuinely no plans to continue the service, 8tracks deserve a proper send off and fans , old and new, deserve to have their grief laid in peace.
