9マス将棋オンライン is a mini-game where you play shogi on a 3x3, 9-square board against players from all over the country in real-time. You can also practice against AI or play with friends using a 'password' feature. It condenses the fun of shogi into a compact format.
When you start an online match, you'll be automatically matched with an opponent, and the starting position will be randomly set. Players take turns moving pieces, aiming to immobilize the opponent's king. The rules are similar to standard shogi, but the 'promotion' conditions differ on the smaller board.
The app is fundamentally free to play. However, there are some paid content options available within the game. Please be aware that while the core gameplay is free, certain features or items may require purchase.
Yes, you can play with friends using the 'あいことば対局' (password match) feature. By entering the same 'password' (あいことば), you can initiate a match exclusively with your friend. Matches played this way do not affect your win/loss record or gold bonuses.
This app is designed for a wide range of players, from beginners who want to easily learn the movement of pieces and basic rules, to intermediate and advanced players who want to hone their endgame skills. It's also suitable for those looking for a brain training activity.
