A Close-to-Perfect App From a Stellar Developer
Among them is Nature, which takes full advantage of the brand new dimension offered by mobile devices for sound crafting and music-making. Nature uses photo-input and interprets it into neat atonal and chaotic sounds that can be manipulated, agitated, modulated, and mitigated by the built-in oscillator.
Its only failing, and the most frequent thing I find myself criticizing, is its lack of AUv3/Audiobus/Inter-app support (as of July 2023, the time of this writing). Even though you can record your creations in realtime, being able to patch Nature through vocoder programs to be able to make wild modulations live would be an unprecedented development potentially leading to entirely new avenues to sounds never heard before.
I hope this becomes a standard in a future update. In the meantime, don’t forget to check out Zolotov’s other killer apps SunVox, Fractal Bits, and PixelWave.
