  • Phenomenal App! Sanskrit, Mantras, Poses!

I have loved this app for so long! It is a gift to me as a Westerner who started learning yoga and came to find my love of Sanskrit and belief it should be preserved and taught authentically along with asana / poses.
Thank you for creating this for us!
Ps. I’d love to have translations of the mantras if you one day add those! I can imagine the translation is somewhat subjective & tricky...

  • Most useful app!!

I've got great deal of help pronouncing Sanskrit correctly especially with "🐢" button. Thank you so much for creating this app!! Namaste 🙏
  • So hard to find correct pronunciation!

I’m currently studying for my 200hr teacher training. The pronunciations of the postures at school are taught by English only teachers. They butcher the language and should NOT be teaching Sanskrit asanas. So sad. Thank you for this life saving app!!! Please continue to add more posture names🙏🏼❤️

  • Excellent

Thank you for creating this app. It is very informative and would highly recommend to anyone considering yoga teacher training and Sanskrit pronunciation.
  • Love this app!

I teach yoga and Chair Yoga teacher trainings and tell my students about this app. Great for American yoga teachers or others without proper accents to learn it correct. Love the Sivananda Yoga mantras invocations too!
  • Wonderful Tool for deepening and understanding Asana

I am so grateful to have discovered this app. I am an avid yoga fan and currently in a 200 hour teacher training. Having a place to reinforce what I am learning and being able to hear and practice the Sanskrit is a tremendous help in my training process. I also appreciate the concise discussion of the 8 limbs of Raja yoga.
if there are plans for further development having an ability to create my own sequences would be a very useful tool! The app is simple to use, great as a study tool and I recommend it for anyone who wants to be able to move between their mother tongue and Sanskrit.

  • Amazing, but I would love more!

I’m doing an RYT 200 program and this app is amazing for learning pronunciation by aurally. I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s perfect for that purpose and FREE, but I have a few suggestions that might make this app even better.
    1. Pronunciation Key: Diacritical marks are a great enhancement, but in the study section it would be nice to have a reference guide as to what they mean. For example, what does “a” vs. “ā” actually mean phonetically? In English, the long “ā” is pronounced like “make” or “face” but I just read elsewhere that in Sanskrit the same “ā” is pronounced like “father.”
    2. Search: There’s something a little off that doesn’t allow the search to return results unless the term is entered exactly as provided. “Wheel” returns no results, but not because Urdva Dhanurasana isn’t there. You have to enter “Upward Bow Pose” or just scroll through all of the pictures to find it. If the asanas also listed their other common nicknames, like wheel, crow, and lightning bolt, that would help! There’s also inconsistency between the English translations used for Bakasana vs Parsva Bakasana that make searching funky. One is “Crane,” the other is “Side Crow,” so they don’t come up together in the search results. Similarly, if you enter “Bakasana” it only returns Crane for some reason.
    3. Custom Sequence Builder: As a teacher in training, I would love to be able to lay out a pictorial version of a sequence. Even if I can’t save it, taking a screenshot of a sequence that I could drag and drop into place in a sketchpad or “whiteboard” space would be incredible functionality to have.

Notwithstanding, this really is a ***beautiful*** app. I hope my suggestions provide helpful feedback because I don’t want to sound as if I’m complaining. Sincerely, thank you so much!

One of the most accurate and comprehensive asana app out there.
