  • Great mag

Good stories, great reviews, favourite mtb magazine
  • Horrific app, immediate media zero help.

Don't bother, used the old app issue free, this app is just useless. Sticks, doesn't download properly, only flick through once or twice then can't access issues. Been in touch with immediate media about mbuk, what mountain bike and cycling plus. Same issues with all three apps, they are absolutely no help at all, keep getting the same questions from different people.

Buy paper, this is just a garbage app with garbage service.

  • Rubbish, don't bother with it!

The problems I've had with this app are endless. I will not be renewing and will be going back to paper once my subscription has ended. I like the idea of digital but its no good if it doesn't work. MBR app works perfectly and have never had a problem with that so at least I'll have one digital subscription.

  • Do not bother downloading

What a frustrating app, have had this for some time now numerous issues, from locking up, downloads not working properly, substituted with a knitting book, I can go on!! The idea of a download is to get the magazine quicker, its actually quicker to go to the shop and buy a copy. Communication is rubbish as well, last issue I had I had to email editor direct before I got a response. Currently unable to download the October 2015 version and no response to emails for help, despite the fact they have had my money!!

  • This app is theft. Use Zinio

Upgrading to the 'new' app lost access to editions purchased under the old app. Absolute rubbish.
  • Useless - but the developer may have fixed it now....

As I'm on an overseas assignment atm, this is my only way of subscribing. Wrote to customer services as can download old issues but not the latest, and they a) were shut all weekend and b) when they did respond, ignored my email content and suggested I did everything I had told them I had done....happy to re-review when app sorted but for now, avoid like the plague....(I have been a subscriber to the physical magazine on and off for over a decade, I love the magazine content, when and if I can get it.)

**UPDATE** - the good news for MBUK fans is that this now seems to be working, unfortunately for developer, it's taken a week because of the long bank holiday....perhaps make sure it works before you leave for a four day break...but the magazine continues to be good, so I'll persist for now.

  • A downward turn for Newsstand apps

Having been a subscriber to MBUK for several month using the old app, I had my share of "failed to open" moments. I was semi-pleased when Immediate Media (the brains behind a number of other prominent newsstand apps) took hold of MBUK, thinking that as a seasoned developer/publisher for the platform (which is no spring chicken itself) they must have a bulletproof system for deploying the "glorified pdf" version of the magazine. Unlike some other users I managed to transfer my old purchases from my previous subscription purchases (added a star for that), I can even read them consistently (which the old app couldn't always manage). The new app however torments me with new issues which I cannot download, long after the print version has hit the shelf. I struggle to see why I cannot have either an error message or a paid for issue of the magazine. A sad day for the worlds longest running, most widely read mountain bike magazine.
