NAPY Support
Some time ago (years) when this app first came out I asked to help develop NAPY support. Though there was no reply I was surprised to see NAPY support. Thank you!
Being in the US there is no support for handicap dinghy racing at the national level (thanks for nothing USSailing). Appreciate the help from the other side of the pond.
There is a small learning curve with this app but it is easier than most.Show lessPotential
Early indications look great for our club.
But if you could switch off the automatic start clock that would make things a lot easier as very rarely start bang on time etc. Would be amazing if you could turn off the countdown clock and just start the races manually when you’re ready.Developer Response
I'll have a look at that for the next release - thank you for the suggestion! Meanwhile, you can adjust the start time from the Race setup page by tapping the start time field and then spin the Hours to give you as much time as you like. Then when you are ready to go you can tap Warning / Preparatory / One Minute buttons or just the Start Race button to start immediately. If you miss the actual start of the race, you can adjust the start time manually while the race is running (or even after it has finished). Just email us if you need more details. - ClaireTried to use for a race but couldn’t figure it out
I tried to set up and run a single regatta with three fleets. The software is very limited and I couldn’t figure out how to do PHRF Time-On-Time corrections. It seemed to only do Time-On-Distance. And then when I tried to enter the finishing times for the boats after the race, it would only accept elapsed times, not the finish time. Thus, corrected times were not correct. I confirmed the error by doing a separate spreadsheet to calculate finishes. I have used Sailwave and like it a lot but I wanted an iOS solution for iPad. I may give it another try but it needs a good tutorial.Show lessDeveloper Response
Thanks for the feedback, sorry to hear you are having trouble. Could you please email us with more details (you can use the Feedback link on the Settings page). To use PHRF Time-On-Time you would edit the Fleet and turn off the toggle that says Time-On-Distance. You also need to ensure each race includes the distance (in nautical miles). Our website at http://arcsail.com has been recently updated and has new guides. - Claire
