Description of Hearing Analyzer Portrait

"Hearing Analyzer Portrait" is an ear health check tool that allows you to measure very wide audible frequency ranges to your hearing. The human ear possesses an auditory range from 20Hz to 20kHz. In addition to conventional audiometry (125Hz - 8kHz), the extended low-frequency audiometry and high-frequency audiometry including Mosquito sounds are available. You can self-diagnose the sound listening ability. By measuring the characteristics of your current hearing, please try to consider the wellness of your ears and the way of natural sound reproduction. It is possible to measure the hearing of the audio range by finding the minimum point in the operation of the slider volume that you can hear the testing pure tone for each frequency. The results are displayed in easy-to-read charts like the audiogram. Recommended to check your own hearing ability on a daily basis for the audiophile, music players, sound professionals and all music lovers. Try to check if you have the golden ears! Features: - Broadband hearing test in 3 frequency bands: LF (Low Frequency) - 30Hz to 100Hz, BAS. (Basic frequency) - 125Hz to 12kHz, MOS. (Mosquito, Extended High Frequency) - 13kHz to 20kHz - Test tones of LF: 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 (Hz) - Test tones of BAS.: 125, 250, 500, 1k, 2k, 4k, 8k, 12k (Hz) - Test tones of MOS.: 13k, 14k, 15k,16k, 17k, 18k, 19k, 20k (Hz) - Test channel: Left, Right - Test tone type: Intermittent tone (Tone A) / Continuous tone (Tone B) - Measurement result graph display (LVL/ATH/BOTH): Frequency response of hearing - Linear level without ATH compensation (LVL), ATH (*1) compensation (ATH), Both results (BOTH) - Clear setting and results. (Reset) - Snapshot of single band result. (Snap) - Snapshot of full band result. (Snap-W) *1: ATH (Absolute Threshold of Hearing) ATH is also known as the hearing threshold and is the minimum sound pressure level of pure tone that can be detected on the hearing in noise-free environment. Human is said to be able to listen from 20Hz to 20kHz, but the sensitivity of the hearing will vary greatly depending on frequency. ATH varies with age and sex, but is a good sensitivity at mid-range (1kHz - 5kHz), and needs more greater sound pressure level at a lower and higher frequency. The information in ATH graph is just for reference purposes. Attentions: Please use the headphones that provided with iPhone in the hearing test. This application generates a test tone signal with a high gain, so please special attention to the volume adjustment. Before the diagnosis start, please set the hardware volume control to the central position of 50%. If you move the volume slider upward, the output volume will have a large gain. So as not to be excessively large gain for your ears, please adjust it carefully.  Remarks: In general, a high risk of hearing loss has been known if you continue to hear the sounds of a high acoustic pressure level, such as, listening of the portable audio and working with too loud noises. According to WHO, some 1.1 billion teenagers and young adults are at risk of hearing loss due to the unsafe use of personal audio devices, including smartphones, and exposure to damaging levels of sound at noisy entertainment venues such as nightclubs, bars and sporting events. Reviews of Hearing Analyzer Portrait

  • The closest thing to a professional hearing test on the App Store

The closest thing to a professional hearing test on the App Store. This app is great if you want to check your hearing in a no nonsense, user controlled interface. If you suffer from hearing loss, as I do, and want an app that you can regularly document your hearing from day to day, this is the app to get. It does not do an automatic hearing test. It allows you to play certain frequencies at adjustable volumes to graph your hearing at those frequencies. Of course, Hearing Analyzer Portrait cannot control for your headphones or particular listening environment, so it cannot give you a professional hearing test and none of the other apps on the App Store can either. However, this app is excellent for mapping changes in your hearing from day to day or even from hour to hour. $3.99 is an excellent price for this excellent app. Take snaps of the tests and store them in an album in Apple Photos and you can easily map your hearing over time.
  • Hard to use

Don't pay 5 bucks for nothing. Frequencies are pre-set, can't move from L ear to R easily, too simple design but difficult to operate. Not worth it at any price.
