  • Good. Needs more features

    There is an issue when if you’re scanning barcodes and your phone goes to sleep, the camera will be frozen when you unlock your phone.

    There should be an option to add nutrition facts and take pictures of things. (Multiple pictures so you can take a pic of the nutrition facts label?)
  • serious user interface issues but has potential if fixed

    What I’m assuming are errors, show only a white screen.

    Messages to users are confusing and inaccurate. “Already scanned” for net new etc.

    Word wrap for some product name fields is required; but not available.

    Standard form icons (selection circle) used to mean different things.

    Category icons too small to be useful.

    Most entries require extra keystrokes/ actions that should be intuitive. Ie I scan in a item, then also have to change quantity from 0 to 1.

    It should be the same as If you are in grocery store; when they scan, it adds to your total. They can override the quantity if required, but by default, scanning the item means you intend to buy it. A pantry app should work the same; if I scan it, I’m putting it into my cupboard.

    The good stuff:
    Tracks expiry of food
    Has different locations to track & estimates expiration based on location. Ie chicken expiry in freezer vs fridge
    Able to search by category

  • Migration to v6 painful

    I have not been able to use this app since the upgrade to version 6. The data migration process is absolutely PAINFUL. I have to select a location for every and every single item individually. There should be better migration to make this automatic. I have emailed the developer with no response and I am now looking for an alternative app.

  • Can’t access my account! Hours wasted!

    We spent hours scanning and organizing our inventory. The app worked great for a couple months until about a month ago.

    It now doesn’t let me log in! When I try a password reset the app gets stuck and never sends a reset password email. There have been multiple updates since and nothing. I’ve reached out to customer service several times and nothing!

    No waste? Total waste of my time. Worst customer service ever!

  • Crashes and upgrades don’t preserve data

    Seriously guys? I’m glad you released an update that hopefully fixes all of the crashes but would it have killed you to migrate my existing database into the new database format? I launched the app to see what was due to expire soon and all of my data was gone with this latest upgrade. I’ll have to reimport my entire pantry if I want to use it. But if I do that, will I have to do it again next time you decide to update things?

  • HUGE WASTE OF TIME

    I purchased the app and the paid for the ability to have access of more scan bars and additional storage areas. Recently I went to updat my pantry and received an error message. There was NO ability to contact the technical folks at No Waste. I checked the app store and found an update. I updated and now I have LOST ALL MY DATA and access to the extra scan bars. I found an email address on the internet but no one ever responded. HUGE RIP OFF.

  • All my data is lost!

    Not rigourus development. I spent hours making my inventory and lost all after the updating of the app. Found after in the FB FAQ that I had to export my data..... no answer from the developper
  • Login no longer works

    Since upgrade to version 6, the app needs an email login instead of user name it previously used. So despite exporting my data as required, I have lost access to my list and recipes. Email to developer completely ignored. Don’t waste your time on this worthless app...because developer seems to change login rules at his whim and doesn’t care that subscribers lose data that can take hours to load. If I could give this zero stars I would.

  • Lost everything, including all my time

    One week ago this would have been a 5 star rating, loved the organization and all the entry methods. We spent a great deal of time inventorying our freezers. A notice was out to upload everything to cloud before the update, and we did. The program updated and we are no longer recognized. Trying to enter your email and claiming you want to reset password results in the little spinny going around for hours and no reset link sent in the mail. I honestly don't think I have the patience to start from scratch knowing this developers lack of update skills may cause me to lose everything once again.

  • Great app that’s changed my food habits, but has now logged me out

    LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS APP! It really has been such a life-changer and given me a much better relationship with food and my general grocery shop. It took me forever to put all the items in my fridge, pantry and freezer in, and I was shocked about how much stuff I actually had.

    I’m absolutely devastated though because I opened the app today and it had signed me out. I tried to log back in and it didn’t work and the app has been loading the “reset password” screen for an hour. Hoping that it’s just a slight hiccup and I can go back to loving and using the app.
