4.1.0

February 8, 2022

• A major update allows you to plug in external microphones such as RØDE, Shure, Sennheiser etc. Unlike the native camera apps, you can monitor the level meters of these mics before and during the recordings. Edit and trim the individual audio tracks in the mikme app workbench – yes, you can even split the audio tracks for the RØDE Wireless GO II and edit them separately. • When recording with 2+ mikme devices, if one device is manually stopped (on purpose or by accident), the recording continues until the last mikme device has actively been stopped. This ensures a more consistent workflow that won't get interrupted. • Smoother installation process when updating a device's firmware through the app. • User interface improvements. • Bug fixes.

Reviews of mikme

  • Expensive paperweight, now

This thing was cool when it worked, but the app seems to need ever more permissions for less actual functionality, and the mic itself seems stuck in a firmware update loop. I hope they get this sorted out, the actual microphone sounded great when I got it. But I don’t need another app to record through my iPhone’s camera and mic.
  • App getting better

The sound quality from the Mikme mic is excellent. I am glad to see the company is continuing to refine the app and push out updates. Play around with the app and make several test videos of various lengths before recording anything critical.
  • The interface...it's bad

The microphone Hardware is great but the app's interface is random, nonstandard and unnecessarily unpredictable to use. Deleting recordings is pretty much undiscoverable while when saving it forces you take a picture. Built by hardware and sound people with no clue on how to make a usable app. Hire a UI design contractor and have this fixed please.
