Description of Autism iHelp

Autism iHelp is a vocabulary teaching aid developed by parents of a child with Autism and a speech-language pathologist. Autism iHelp was inspired by the need for specific language intervention tools for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder focusing on their unique strengths and difficulty with expressive vocabulary. This app provides learning and repitition of basic skills that are necessary for successful communication and conversational attempts. Differentiating between yes and no and learning the concept of negation are building blocks of basic sorting, categorization, and answering basic questions. This app, like other Autism iHelp apps, uses real-world photos to focus on a specific area that often needs targeted practice in the Autism population. Additionally, you are able to track your child's gains through progress reports that average the last 3 performances of each learning enhancement activity. “with Autism iHelp…..it gets better.”

Reviews of Autism iHelp

  • Works fine, fills a need

This one seems to work fine for me, you can turn on the audio/sound in the settings. Simple, easy to use to work on yes/no ?s.
  • No sound!

I just purchased this app and I am unable to hear the sound, even though the setting are set for sound and my I-pad volume is up. Also, you have to press the buttons several times for it to go to the next question. It takes entirely too long.
