  • Get so fun

    It was ok
  • No thanks

    It just didn't work out.
  • What an utter disappointment...

I love Tinybop's 'The Human Body' app and I enjoy 'Robot Factory' and 'Homes'. I didn't like 'Plants' much but I could see other people enjoying it. This app however...

As soon as I saw this app on the front page of the App Store, I quickly scanned through the images (which looked great) and wanted to read the review but there weren't any. So, thinking about the other Tinybop apps that I like, I bought it without a second thought. Bad idea.

I opened the app up and felt a jolt of excitement as the opening animation started. It looked great. The presentation and style that Tinybop has is excellent and it is great in terms of presentation quality. I made my profile and began the game. I was shown a screen with 6 different options. "Not a lot" I thought.

I chose the picture with the screw on it. I was then presented with three tanks of fish... What do you do? You move each fish tank up and down. You can add more fish and... That's about it. Very boring. It looks nice but I payed for a game, not a picture

I tried the rest of them and was met with the same result. Boredom.

I'm not stingy nor cheap but this app was such a disappointment that I genuinely felt angry for wasting a mere £2.49. Well done Tinybop.

For the people reading this, wondering if they should buy this app. Don't. You can get more fun from raking leaves in the rain. This app looks pretty and makes you think it's interactive and fun but it isn't. They wasted so much time creating this app because the art looks fabulous but the gameplay just isn't there.

Please don't buy this and support such laziness from this company. They know how to make an app interactive and interesting. Don't allow them to become lazy.

  • Bad

I thought you made your own machine but you can't, waste of money.
  • Beautiful Graphics, But Not For Everyone

The graphics in this app are astonishing. I loved the way everything looked and tinkering around with the machines for some time. But I found myself bored after some time playing. There isn't any concrete goal and things start to become repetitive after a while. This is a nice app, but I wouldn't spend $2.99 for it.

  • Nice game for kids

My kids love this game. But I have concern about the Screw game. Based on the screw thread, I think when finger slide from left to right, the tank should be down, and vice versa. forgive me if i'm wrong.
  • So fun!

Didn't expect it but this app made what I remember to be kinda boring lessons really fun. Instead of studying diagrams my kids can actually use each machine and see how they work. Also the illustrations are gorgeous!
  • MrsE

    A big waste of money!!
  • the little surprises

We love how the app doesn't have scores to keep or levels to break through. It's just open for you to play and explore. It's like when my son first got his legos he just 'tinkered' with it with no goal. He stared at the fish tanks in the screw scene for a long time and got really excited when little boats started dropping in! A lovely app!

  • my kids love it

Bought this for my 2nd grader who just studied simple machines in science. He loves it! I haven't even gone through the handbook yet, looks excellent.
