We think that bus transport should be easier to catch and deliver. That's why we've built demand responsive transport technology that allows customers to catch a bus at the push of a button. Using our technology, transport operators can more easily design, optimise, manage and deliver their services. The result…more cost efficient, equitable, sustainable and convenient transport that everyone can feel good about. See you on board, Team BRIDJ

The BRIDJ app now supports Opal Connect in NSW! From Monday 17 May 2021, Earn up to $2 in travel credit each time you transfer between an On Demand service and an Opal service (including trains and buses) within 60 minutes. Opal Connect is a new online booking and payment platform developed by Transport for NSW as part of their continued efforts to integrate On Demand services into the public transport offering across NSW. As part of this change, Opal Pay will no longer be available on these services from 1 June 2021. There will also be a fare change to bring these services in line with Opal bus fares.

We think that buses should be easier to catch and more responsive to traveller needs. That's why we've built demand responsive transport technology that allows you to catch a bus at the push of a button. Using the BRIDJ app, you can book, track and pay for your journey. Behind the scenes we optimise the service in a way that balances the level of demand with the available vehicles by partnering you with other travellers going in a similar direction, at a similar time. The result…more cost efficient, sustainable and convenient transport that you can feel good about. See you on board, Team BRIDJ

Description of Bridj NSW

A shortcut in your pocket BRIDJ is a new way to get around your city. We are on demand public transport, powered by technology that cleverly groups travellers with a similar journey path and dynamically routes the vehicle to reduce overall journey time. We adapt to the way your city moves, instead of the other way around. To get started, download our APP, enter where your trip begins, and where you want to go. If you’re traveling within our service area, we’ll match you up with other users headed in the same direction. We’ll provide you with handy walking directions to your pick up location. Then we’ll drop you off within a short walk of wherever you’re going. Each ride on BRIDJ costs significantly less than a taxi, and generally a similar price to traditional public transport. Plus, when you ride on BRIDJ you’re always guaranteed a seat and access to on board WiFi, so you can either relax or be productive.

Reviews of Bridj NSW

  • No indication of service area

Bridj is apparently only in Sydney. It would be great if it could say that on its home screen for those of us who didn't realize that service had stopped in Boston.
  • Unreliable and Opaque Service

    Pros:
    - Clean vehicles
    - Nice leather seats with a lot of space
    - Free wifi during the trip
    - Responsive customer service

    Cons
    - Rarely on-time; sometimes cancelled
    - Late notice when rides will be late/cancelled
    - App is prone to crashes and misinformation

Overall the service acts as an alternative to public transportation but ends up being only fractionally cheaper with much worse reliability. I want to like this service, but after several late or cancelled trips with very little heads-up I cannot endorse it.
  • Very temperamental

The app seems buggy. Sometimes it gives only one pickup time when there are several remaining (try five minutes later or from the opposite corner of the the street and you get the full schedule). And the "recent destinations" list too often doesn't show the place you went just yesterday.

The service is generally good, though the timing can be puzzling, but the app is very frustrating.
