Cargill moved to Conover, Iowa, in 1865 and bought a grain warehouse at the end of the McGregor-Western Railroad, he thought he might be onto an idea for a successful business. From those humble beginnings grew the impressive global agribusiness we know today, employing 143,000 people across 69 business units operating in 67 countries around the world.
