Why does the map open at South Africa every time. Can’t it be set to open at location.
Why can I never see the portal details when I click on the portal to link it etc? Unless it is right at the bottom of the screen you can’t see anything. Clicking on the portal should Center and enlarge so you can see portal details and click on the start link circle. All these things used to happen but it is getting so it is almost unusable these days.Show lessRenroc57

This app adds extra features over the official such as the ability to save favourite locations for quick reference. There have occasionally been some performance issues but as far as I can see these appear to be caused by Niantic’s servers, not this app. There is an option in settings to clear the cache - worth doing occasionally as this really speeds things up.Show lessChris hevey

I’m having complications on the app. When I sign in the screen turns completely black and I have no idea what to do. Any advice?ALXIII

Have you tried clearing the cache? Try going to Settings > Clear CacheGoogle ads cover part of screen
Ads newly added take this from 5 stars to 1. Always used before. Will not use any more.
[update] Turns out I still use it all the time. My previous point was that is annoying that the ads take up screen real estate that you cannot get back, and I had thought I couldn't live with the reduction. Would be nice to be able to scroll the ad away to get the space back. It could even pop up on a timer, but full screen is desired.
But, this app is still the best way for me to access Intel. It remembers the map I last used, and gets me away from the crashing iPhone browsers.
It's quick. I find myself accidentally opening the bookmarks occasionally- to close this, press the book icon. Niantic server of course can be slow, but the app can't fix that.Show lesstodala

Used the free version, works well. As a new player this is a useful tool. Bought the pro version to support the dev. This app will certainly come in handy as I learn to play the game. Good job 👏S¡N¡STER

With the introduction of banner ads in the free version, a hard-to-use app has become more difficult, and some functions are no longer accessible.
