Reviews of MusiClock

  • Great App

Very good way to introduce the complexity of keys visually. Provides fun hands on interaction with music 🎼 theory in a simple clear interface with very catchy background melodies.
  • Helpful and great sounding tracks. One request: ability to adjust tempo

I love this app and often use it with my piano students when they practice their scales and Hanon exercises. Many students who have trouble following the beat of a regular metronome are able to stay with the beat of the backing tracks here. The app is super easy to use, looks great, sounds great, and is well-designed. My only wish is that the app would allow for an adjustment in tempo on the backing tracks. I have my students practice progressively faster (one click at a time on metronome speeds). So if their particular tempo isn’t represented in the backing tracks on the app, then we have to find one that is close, or just not use it at all. If there was this option, I would have all of my students get it - it is much more fun than a metronome!
  • Nice tool

I like this app though there may be a bug. When I set the app to accept the scale first and then index by backing track, I am not allowed to then select the key. The work around is to select the scale in order to see which tracks support that scale, then switch back to select that backing track first.

I would also like a lot more backing tracks.
