This App

It shows nothing I want to know good camping off the grid. Hunting seasons! Good rivers, it’s all south Texas might as well be in Mexico. How about east Texas or north Texas? Who cares about some flower!

Never have gotten emagazine

Although I requested TPL e magazine, I have never gotten it so it is worthless to me!

Outstanding Performance

A outstanding example of dedicated, hard-working people. 👍 Texas state parks, Game wardens. Great Job 👏

TPWD Magazine

Easy to use app!

Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine

Best magazine ever. Beautiful pictures and very useful articles and stories. Love it!

Nice

I like it is really good it tells you where to fish and what type of baits to use. For different fish I love it!

Love TPWD

TPWD is a government agency that truly works for the betterment of our state. In the age of government overspending, TPWD does so much with less. From Game Wardens guarding our coasts , assisting with drug interdiction, to biologists solving diseases affecting bats in our state, TPWD leads the way. I appreciate all that they do in creating a healthy habitat for wildlife, the partnerships that they facilitate on land and water.
Their Television show on the public channel rocks too.
Thank you Texas Parks And Wildlife,

Not Happy

I have to wonder if TP&W has any idea of how many long time subscribers they lose when the put out a digital edition that is this poorly designed.

I’m an older reader, and have been moving away from the hard copy versions of the periodicals I read. There have been a number I’ve stopped reading because of the app design was so poor, and I’ve not gone back to the paper version. The reason? Simply put, those apps did not have an intuitive interface. There are better things to do with my time than figure out where the developers put all the Easter Eggs required to utilize the app! To be clear, I subscribe to a number of periodical e-editions that work just fine. I’m not a newbie at using this medium.

The first hint of a problem was trying to log into the app. I subscribed on the TP&W website. I had to find the answer to where the subscriber login was by reading the reviews for this app! Are you folks dense, or what? Provide instruction in the app, or on your website! Don’t make people look for it!

Unlike a lot of folks, I pay for my content. I realize the value it provides costs money to produce. When I get an app that is this difficult to navigate, I wonder why I bother. TP&W, get this fixed please. I bought an annual subscription. If the problems aren’t resolved in the next few issues, I will delete the app and will turn off any auto-renew and will not subscribe again. As a Texas resident and taxpayer, if tax money was used to produce this app, you have wasted it!

Amendment: After reading through all of the reviews, it is clear that TP&W is non-responsive to the feedback. I should have read the reviews before obtaining the subscription. You won’t get my money again, TP&W!

Needs more content and bug fixes; good customer support

I had an issue where I couldn’t log in to access all the content using my subscription login and following the in-app instructions. I used the option to report an issue and quickly got an email from the TPWD developer who helped me resolve the issue (turns out the in-app instructions were out-of-date).

For those who can’t find the login option, from the first page of the app go to Issues, select the most recent issue, and then you’ll see a login button.

I do think I liked the older app better due to easier navigation and more content. Also, it seemed a little less buggy. However, the developer did take my report about an additional bug I found and also said they were committed to expanding the content so I’m expecting the app to get better in the near future.

Easy access & bonus material

The app is a wonderful addition to the magazine plus it has extra and free features even if you aren't subscribed to the magazine. It features excellent photography and useful and fun outdoor stories. It makes my trips to the Texas outdoors more meaningful. Thank you, TPW!
