Decent Database Function So Far
Had to ditch my last database app. Got sick of the constant pay-to-use updates. Just needed a database that works! Now I have to re-input my entire collection. Hopefully, this app remains stable and retains my movie data for several years.
The Best!
This app, and its companion pieces for CDs and Books, are, in my estimation, the best pieces of cataloging software available anywhere today. Not only are they fine pieces of intelligent design, they are very reasonably priced for the value they offer. In addition, the company offers excellent customer support. In summary, these “Buddies” are great; buy the package!

Update: Thanks for pointing out that there is an option for this but that just brought up more problems. The app doesn’t actually differentiate the different versions of a movie. For example I have 4K and Blu-ray versions of a few movies but when I scan them they are both considered the same movie. It also has a hard time with box sets. I could go on but unless you’re willing to put a LOT of time into using this app, you’re better off paying more for a more competent app. I guess that is why this is so cheap…
Old: This app would be amazing IF it actually listed the movies in the format you scan them in. You can manually set the format of the movie but it’s not shown in the actual list view so it’s useless.

Thank you for your feedback. Please note that you can show the Format field (and any other field) on the list view by going to MovieBuddy > Settings > List View > Fields, and selecting any desired field.
Video covers, Selected episodes
Some of the video covers on IMDb are are not being downloaded. When trying to change it, the one on the IMDb site is not there.
This program will only accept the IMDb number of the series, instead of a particular episode. IMDb has the information on that particualr episode, but the program will not accept it.

Camera flash not working
Loved the BookBuddy app so I bought this for my movie collection but when I go to scan the barcodes with the back light on it freezes my camera and I find it doesn’t recognize a lot of barcodes.

Thank you for your feedback. Please note that this is not a free app but rather a trial app which allows you to test all the app’s features without being forced to first purchase it. The 50 movie limit is clearly indicated on the top of the Description section and can be removed using In-App Purchase. Also note that the app doesn't present any ads on this trial version so charging a one time fee is our only way to cover the high cost of developing and maintaining the app. We are truly sorry for any misunderstanding.
Brilliant! Get this app!
If you are a person who likes to keep a record of the movies and TV programs you watch, or would like to watch, this app is perfection. I have spent years looking for some thing this simple - every other app is crudded up with social media and or advertising, and is so impossible to sort through that I had resigned myself to using Apple notes or Google tasks to keep track. With this app, you can very easily search on the Internet to download information for any movie or TV show you are hoping to see. You can keep the interface as simple as you like. On my phone I just have movie posters for everything in my lists. Click on the movie poster and you can access any information you need, (metadata, reviews, links to streaming services) and hide anything you don’t want to see. The UI is a little challenging, but the developers are incredibly helpful and very responsive. One quick email sorted me out. Love this app!
