Palmer's Brewing Water Adj App User Reviews

Vague and a little glitchy

My understanding of this app was you input your water chemistry and the beer style you wish to brew and the app outputs the necessary additions of salts and/or acid to produce the ideal brew water. It does not, exactly. You have to tinker with the additions and see if it actually works to raise/lower the ion concentration of your water. It's way more complicated that it seems. And it just shuts down for no reason quite a bit.

Great App for General Brewing Water Chemistry

I gave this app 4 star instead of 5 stars for this app obviously needs an update. I spent some time off and on using this app before I actually realized I could use it as a general overview before I start my Beersmith recipe, which does much of the same things seen in this app. Minus some additional guidance this app provides. Like target RA values for styles. Missing in Beersmith application. I also missed the this app’s top left menu option and when found, the excessive prelude verbiage turned me away on first couple views. Checkout the menu instruction info at bottom. Entering Distilled/RO water should be in gallons not percentage. That also caused me a problem. Addition info could be general good targets for salts/Hardness/?non-specific to styles and what total gram additions of salts are in-appropriate. I sense I am adding too much cardboard sometimes. I have been looking for a simple approach to creating an appropriate water chemistry profile for brewing any style beer. This seems to be it!
