  • Abandoned?

Registration seems broken as of February 2, 2020 (the issue is the same on HealthyBrains.org as well). I’m unable to try the app as a result. Blerg.
  • Unacceptable lack of quality assurance.

As a CCF alumni and an academic cardiac surgeon it bothers me that the developers still haven’t corrected their calculation tool(s). I just downloaded the app, June 2019, and the BMI calculator is still way off. In my wife’s case 10 points, ending up at 32 = obese, instead of 22 = normal weight. We both participate in the UCSF Brain Health Registry, and Instead of spending resources on putting a bad app on the market, they rely on “old fashioned” web access.
So I deleted the app! As medical professionals we have both created and participated in questionnaires, and we recognize a poor one, when we see it. This is one of them.
My advice: scrap it and start over.

  • Good UI but don’t trust the calculations

This app couldn’t even get BMI right. It’s embarrassing for the developers. Clearly they don’t unit test their code. If they can’t get BMI right which is perhaps the simplest of all calculations, what other metrics are they potentially miscalculating?
