Description of Hardboiled

The blast was immense. Humanity finally had destroyed itself. The fallout lasted for weeks after the bombs went off. If you didn’t die in the blast, you died in the coming weeks from radiation and disease. Everyone was fighting for survival in what's left of the abandoned towns and cities. Slowly the survivors are trying to put what's left of their lives back together, some even with force. Just like the other survivors, Max was trying to reclaim his life back. He drove from city to city trying to find a suitable place that was good enough to call home. However, after his latest stop, things got a little complicated starting with a few stolen car parts. Will Max be able to get the parts back? Will he try his best to help those in need or just mow everyone down in his search. He is ready to become a fist of justice. Features: • A deserted and dangerous town to explore. • Turn-based combat system. • Atmospheric graphics and sounds. • Tons of weapons and loot. • Reputation system to become good or evil. • Skill point stat system. • No Ads or In-App Purchases. Note: • Game could be quite difficult for casual gamers. Good luck and have fun!

  • It tried so hard and fell so short

This game wants to be Fallout. So badly. But it completely lacks any sort of character depth, humor, or mechanics. Trading seems to be based on a hidden arbitrary value of some sort, the equipment is unimaginative, combat ranges between laughably east and hellacious frustrating, quests are vague and boring.

This unpolished game also reuses the same tired dialog as their other games, has atrocious navigation (the map is very close to useless unless you memorized the locations of people you want to talk to).

The only thing it has going for it is no ads/in app purchases, but even that isn’t enough to save this clunker.

There are a multitude of 1$ games on the App Store; I recommend you skip this one.

  • Waste of $2

This game could have potential but it’s just sad, I’m gonna beat myself up for a week after wasting $2 on this game.
  • Incredible - Short - But FUN!

    [TL;DR = 100% WORTH > $1. GET IT.]

Original Fallout-style battle and trading mechanisms with VATS-like targeting (headshots lower % hit but higher damage, arms disarm, legs slow, etc).

Although the game is short (you can beat it in 3 hours on normal mode), there’s good replay value by playing through again as a hero or villain (+/- rep).

My one desired change is the ability to save the game. Especially wish that would have been possible just before the ending... Those that know, know what I’m saying. Also, let us look on bodies / boxes while in combat (running out of ammo or meds mid-combat means we gotta just give up and die at present).

I would absolutely pay $5-10 for a larger version of this game. Maybe add perks and some dialogue with NPCs. Great job, developers!
