Excellent way to practice
Really enjoying using the app itโs for everything I need for my beginners class. Videos are very clear and it enables me to practice well.
Some features donโt work
- you canโt change the video settings so you canโt pause or fast forward, rewind or make it bigger on the screen and the first video I watched was 17minutes so thatโs really poor.
- generally a bit clunky
- paid ยฃ5 for it and itโs got many other little issues which is frustrating
- canโt download syllabus as not compatible apparently and Iโm using an Upto date iPhone 11 Pro.
Really need to fix these bugs if you are charging ยฃ5 as it has some brilliant information but half of it you canโt do much with which is disappointing.

What happened
This use to be a good app. My child has a grading next week and the videos are uncontrollable. Canโt full size them or pause/rewind
Latest update
Great app but in the latest update the individual kyu videos are only appearing in a sub small screen. Useless for practice. Please can you fix asap?
No voice
I can see what the instructor is doing but it would be helpful to hear...why was it recorded in mute?
Extremely Useful
It is a very good way to help practice everything a student needs to know for their grading. Also, it is easy to navigate around the app.
Good first release
It's good, the syllabus coverage is excellent from the videos through to the Kumite and basics listings.
However, the app is fine so long as you're online. Go offline and nothing works - no videos, no syllabus - nothing. Offline viewing is essential for this kind of material.
Also, the videos can't be cast to TVs from the app, which you could previously do from the web.
Given all this, I'm not entirely clear on how this is any better than previously having access to the videos online through Vimeo.
Having a feedback button in the app would also avoid us having to write this up on the AppStore.

AT LAST - a really useful karate app
***STOP PRESS - this app is now even better as the videos now rotate to full screen when device is turned to horizontal***
Whether you are new to karate or an experienced student seeking improvement, I am sure you will find his app useful. It consists of a complete set of videos showing you all the basics, kumite and kata you need to take you from a complete beginner through to black belt.
The genius of this app lies in its simplicity. The videos are helpfully split up by grade so that you can easily click on the relevant belt colour to view all the techniques you need. The moves are shown slowly and then at full speed to aid understanding. The videos have been very professionally filmed and are clear and easy to learn from.
If you are like me and want to practice at home, but forget half of what you learn as soon as you leave the dojo, you should definitely buy this app!!

Useful app
A handy app for any karateka, to COMPLIMENT lots of dojo time - not replace it! ;)
Awesome
Awesome thanks. Really useful for practising. I wish the videos would go full screen, can that be fixed? But thanks anyway for a great app!!๐
