Poorly Thought Out App
Among the many app deficiencies you can not set radio station presets from the app. You can not even change radio stations from the app. WTAF!
Common children of Saul, you can do better.

Don’t update!
Latest update has removed all ability for the app to connect to my 1609.
Garbage stuff
Work 1 time when the apps is happy…..!!!!
Impressed
Having just replaced my 20 year old Marantz amp, I am impressed with this app. It responds quickly and accurately with my Marantz CD, Blu-ray and amp components. Thanks!
Works great after off loading and reloading app
I’ve used this app for 5 years with 2 receivers, 6015 and 8015.
There are adjustments on the app you can’t do with the remote making the app necessary if you want to easily access deeper menus in the receiver.
I read some of the bad reviews and wonder if off loading the app and installing it again would help? I had to when I first added the app, I’ve had no problems since.
The app has been consistent and reliable. I use it several times a day and have no complaints.

Required, but not intuitive.
I firmly believe that this is a requirement for the Cinema series as you can’t see on the front screen what speakers should be active etc, while using ARC. This app is able to provide this information and for that I am grateful.
For an easy way to manage the AVR just use the web view option as its laid out very sensibly. I pray this functionality is never changed or removed, only improved as needed.
The app however, could use some basic customization in regards to what should be displayed when the app is opened by default. I don’t want to click into info to see the active speakers etc. A good start would be to have the exact same menu layout you can get through the remote to be something you can scroll through in the app. Not all settings are available in the app that are through the remote and it’s not always clear if I’m in the wrong menu or the functionality is just not available in the app. Hopefully these suggestions can be taken into consideration.

No home server info anymore?
Decided to turn the old Marantz SR7010 Av unit on and listen to some music taken off my home network. However, even though the app connects to the Av unit fine (a little slow mind you) it no longer sees my home network (even after refreshing a few tomes) via the app server menu! This used to work before no problem! So can only put this down to one of the many updates that have happened since then (my last review and use of this app was over 5 years ago). If I turn on the tv I can see the server and select the music through the list no problem so it’s 100% app side!! As you can see sadly Marantz app developers don’t seem to do a great job going off there star reviews. Shame as the hardware side has always been solid! My Yamaha Av unit (even older then my Marantz) still works fast and without issues to this day - App developers have a chat with them 🤭👌

Only Thing I Use
I don’t know what the problems are with people having difficulties with this app. With the occasional having to power down my Marantz SR 6014, I have found this app to be extremely useful. It has gone through several upgrades which have made it more stable at least for my receiver and I have been using it for three years now. I use this to do all kinds of adjustments while I’m watching content and hardly ever use the remote for anything. It feels like I’m the only one who really likes the app so it makes me query if some people just don’t know how to operate it or that their receivers are not able to connect with it properly. There are a myriad of reasons that this can be happening not the least of which is keeping up on updates or having a good Internet connection. We use ethernet to make sure that the connection to the Marantz is stable. I appreciate the work that has gone into the app and I just woud like the developers to know that I think they’ve done a good job.

A little with a lot
So many features in my SR6015 amp yet so difficult to navigate with this app. It’s an essential extension of a unit with such a limited built-in display and basic, dedicated remote functionality, so the app must be considered the main controller and designed with the respect that deserves.
The UX is from the 90s and not in a good way. Difficult to determine why some pages reveal features some times and not other times without the need to exit the menu location to check. Surround Parameters doesn’t reveal the surround parameter options (eg stereo/dolby…) so this needs to be selected by the dedicated remote by scrolling one by one. So frustrating.
Weirder is the ‘web control’ pathway that mirrors the functions of the app but in a browser-like experience with almost-identical menu branches and options - but not quite. Remembering which options are available in the app and which are available via ‘web control’ requires hours of frustrating self-training. I’m almost qualified but not sure I’ll ever fully get the hang of this.
The sliders require surgical precision with no haptic feedback or intuitive response to inputs of speed variability.
It also drops out regularly/can’t find amp on wifi network. Don’t have an issue with other smart devices on same network, so it’s the app or the amp or both.
Do better Marantz. If you reduce unit or remote features they need to be reasonably functional and convenient within the app. It’s a necessity in a product of this calibre.

Worst app I have ever used
What a piece of garbage app - I have always been proud of my marantz system , but to have this app never work is frustrating to say the least - I will continue to use my amp for the phono stage but the network receiver is a dust collector - a waste of money.
