Out of order titles

Happy to change my review, but the app has the chapters out of order, e.g 1, 10, 11,12,13,14,15....18,19,2,20,21 etc. Maybe a simple fix, maybe user error. Couldn't find an easy spot for support.

Also often the app would need to be closed and reset to stream the next chapter. Love the idea and want the app to work well.

Won’t let me download or stream audio Bibles anymore

It used to be an OK but not great app, but since I’ve bought several translations of Bible audiobooks over the years I used to listen to them a lot through this app until a year ago or so when an update to the app ruined that. It used to be possible to only download certain Bible books in the app (instead of the whole large file) but then would give me a message saying “No chapters found”. I keep coming back every once in a while to this app to see if any updates have fixed this but unfortunately the app is still giving that error.

I can’t understand why an audiobook company based on Christian books and the Bible would overlook such an important feature in their app.

No customer service

Good content but submitted customer service tickets are not responded to. Old app was upgraded and new app not play audio. Submitted request and months later no response. Happened before too- even with registered email updated -they did not respond until previous email used. Find another audiobook provider with same content (which christian audio subcontracts to) who has customer service.

Used to be my fav. Now a wreck

I used to use this app daily and what I loved about. It is my account at ChristianAudio would hold all my books but I can download the ones I want to listen to into the app. Now it crashes when I try to look up a book and doesn’t remember which books I had been listening to so I have to research to get the book and won’t download half of my books such as the Bibles, which are a frequent and necessary listen for me. When I first encountered these problems, I spent a couple of months reaching out to customer service and they acted like I was the only one with the problem with their new updates. I persisted until I found out that they were in denial and I was not the only one at that point I gave up thinking the complaints of others might push them to make more updates and get this fixed. I now look in the history probably a year later and see they have made updates but the app has not improved. I keep checking back because I want to listen to the Bible on this app rather than having to download it to my computer get part of it, put it in another app and listen there, but I’m annoyed and dismayed that they can’t just take it back to the previous version that worked and this is no longer useful to me

Needing updates.

I like the selection a books, but the app itself is in need of update and improvement. I read the reviews of other users, and these problems persist. For instance, in reading, a chapter book, if I close the app, the book goes down to the middle of the list of books that I own rather than being at the top even though I set the preferences to most recent. also, the app does not remember where I left off in the book, and I don’t believe there are any way to set bookmarks, so the only way I remember where I am in the book is to take a screenshot of the chapter and time. This is inconvenient. Audible really sets the standard for where any audiobook app should be. Audible has a timer, remembers your place, and even allows you to set bookmarks for books you are reading, even multiple bookmarks. The ChristianAudio app should also be offering these features for their users since they are charging the same price as audible. If you were going to offer an inferior product, at least charge, significantly less, not the same price as your “competitor.” I will keep the books that I have on christianAudio, but I don’t think I’m going to be buying any more content from them until they fix these issues and offer these features.

Christian audio app and company are TERRIBLE!!

This app went from bad to FAR WORSE! The “demanded” upgrade is useless with so many glitches it doesn’t work. Use to be able to download books, part of a book if you didn’t have room on device, or whole book. Just opening the app now the wheel spins and spins till it slowly opens, then it’s so glitchy. Some book chapters are completely out of order, where the old app was better with some messed up books. There’s little control on downloading what you want and immediately starts playing a book from some random spot in the book.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Only contact is email when the outsourced people decide if they want to respond and when they do, it usually doesn’t resolve problems. If they don’t care for the request, they stop responding. No other contact options. Terrible company, terrible CS, terrible “upgraded” app. I have too many purchased books on app from years of using but playing them is a real mess. Very frustrating, especially with downgraded “upgrade!” Hire experienced developers for app upgrade, not someone who doesn’t have a clue how to develop apps!

Response from developer

HI there - I'm sorry for the trouble the previous update caused and for the lack of service. We have published an update and its available in the app store. You may wait for the update, or you can go to the app store and download the update.

Says I’m offline, won’t play anything

Since the last update, I can see my library but no matter what I click on, the app fails to see that I’m connected. Rebooted. Updated my phone to the latest patch level on iOS 16… will try 17 and see if that fixes it.

Used to be better

While the old version of this app had its glitches, in general, it worked quite well. The new version is much less effective. It is more difficult to download a book for listening off-line. It says it is downloading, but often when you try to listen off line it won’t let you. And you have to listen to one chapter at a time - it doesn’t automatically go on to the next. More than once, a chapter has been in the wrong order. It takes a minimum of 15 seconds for the app to load my library, instead of being almost instantaneous as it was before. And it is now more difficult to tell which chapter I am on. Please fix the app - it is getting just too frustrating to use.

Used to be better

While the old version of this app had its glitches, in general, it worked quite well. The new version is much less effective. It is more difficult to download a book for listening off-line. And I have yet to figure out how to delete a book once I have finished listening to it. More than once, a chapter has been in the wrong order. It takes a minimum of 15 seconds for the app to load my library, instead of being almost instantaneous as it was before. And it is now more difficult to tell which chapter I am on.
If you could please restore the one tap download, and the swipe delete, I think it would be a significant improvement.
