Description of EON Connect

EON Connect is a smart device application for control of up to four JBL EON 600-series speakers, using EON 600’s built-in Bluetooth functionality. The EON Connect app enables you to optimize the performance of each speaker through exclusive access to additional DSP parameters, including three fully adjustable parametric equalizers, plus Hi and Lo Shelf filters. In addition you can set speaker delay for compensating speaker positions and control output mixing. Plus, quickly apply speaker settings across other EON 600-series speakers through preset creation and recall. You can also update each speaker’s firmware to the latest version directly from the EON Connect application. JBL engineers purposely designed the JBL EON 600 speaker line to provide a fully professional, easy to use, and built-to-last portable loudspeaker system for today’s working musicians and sound providers. Featuring JBL’s advanced waveguide technology, JBL designed and manufactured transducers, the latest technologies in cabinet materials and wireless DSP control via Bluetooth, the JBL EON 600-series delivers the extraordinary quality of a high-end studio monitor in a powerful portable PA. NOTE: Due to improvements in the application infrastructure, users of the app before version 1.34 may need to create new settings. Version 2.0 is built on a new, improved code base for better performance. Users should reset their EON Speakers before using this version of the app. If a speaker is still linked to the old app, it may not be able to connect to the new app.

Reviews of EON Connect

  • C’mon Harman/JBL

This should be a wonderful speaker and in many ways it is. However, Harman have abandoned it following a v1.0 software release. Updates could have added functionality or better UI. Heck,I would love to pay for additional features in my Eon 610.

Seems like one needs to research a manufacturer’s commitment to product support/software updates before buying any sort of app-based speaker. I regret that I blindly trusted Harman/JBL would continue support for their product. I think Mackie has a better reputation, but look for yourself and as customers, let’s start insisting on better support for what we buy.
  • Needs work

EON connect does a decent at upgrading the speakers. Be aware that build 70 can lock you out from adding the speakers to the network. Once you add the speakers leave them there. I removed mine and now none of them come up in the scan anymore. The network tab shows them as not being part of the network. JBL customer rep suggested a speaker factory reset by powering the speaker with Boot and EQ buttons pressed and waiting for the LEDs to flash. This made the speakers ready to be paired again. The app should release the speakers as unpaired to avoid a factory reset. The app should also provide a help page detailing the factory reset procedure as this would be handy in other situations.
  • Waste of time

Bring that speaker back to whatever you bought it, and stop wasting time and money
