Pointless

It doesn’t connect with bank accounts so you have to update manually (based on what I can see). A complete waste of time - it may have good features but with this basic feature being missing it’s pointless as it just creates admin and wastes time!

Support unhelpful

While saving a transaction using the MoneyCoach the program would crash. I sent an email to the developer. His response was that I need to make a video of the issue. I explained to him that my personal information was on this and I didn’t want to send a video. I asked him if we could work through this a different way. His response was no this is the only way he couldn’t figure out what kind of transaction it was. it seems to me that he could’ve asked me What kind of transaction it was. It is unfortunate that he is not flexible enough to solve problems with the needs of his customers as his priority. I have to rate this low as with no support and my program crashing it is useless to me.

Great App

Best app to use for budgeting your money and keeping track of your finances

Response from developer

Thank you 🙏

Most features locked behind premium sub

Great app, concept is great, UX is great, but it’s very jarring that almost all the features are locked behind a subscription and you’re limited with what you can do on the app.

Family Sharing

Looks interesting but the fact I need to pay $9.99 just to share with my wife is absurd. I’ll stick to a worse experience with CIBC instead of having to pay someone to share my money with my wife. That alone made me delete

No default category when adding money?

I’m guessing this happened in the most recent update, but when I go to add a transaction now, if it’s adding money (green) and I tap on the category button, there is no longer a default category selected. It should be the one I’ve favorited, but instead nothing is selected and no subcategories are shown. I have to physically tap the category. This issue doesn’t occur if the transaction I’m adding is a debit (red). Those transactions still default to my favorited category. So this seems like a bug.

We will fix it. A 3 star review doesn’t motivate us though...

Awful

The free trial only lets you add 2 accounts, you need to sign up for a subscription if you want to add more than that. Would've been nice to know before downloading the app.

Excellent App

I’ve been using for several years.

Thanks 🙏 for the review

Dev is responsive and helpful

A cool feature of subscribing is being able to directly message the dev. Unfortunately that is done on WhatsApp, which I’ve never heard of before using their app and seeing that feature, but it works mostly fine.

Regarding the app specifically, I find it difficult to benefit from many of the features as importing my spreadsheets did not work. Initially after importing various csv files into their respective accounts, the balances WERE correct. But after having imported more than a few accounts, balances started jumping around. Now, I’m just assuming here, but I think it was trying to find transactions between the accounts and changing into transfers or something like that. I really don’t know, I did not dive into it. but yeah, so the quote “AI features that MoneyCoach offers, they would really only work if you have the historical data, which you can only get if you use the app long enough, which you would have to pay for the entire time while not receiving any of this feature is due to the lack of data, or by importing your data, but you’re gonna have to figure out how to get it to work properly.

Kinda Good

It isnt syncing across multiple devices. And sometimes the math is not mathing. I needed to quit the applications first and then reopen for the math to be calculated right.

Other than that, all good.
