Used to be.
When I first got Argentum you could use the AA filter for free. Now all the filters are locked and if you want to use any, you must buy into some level of subscription. Argentum used to be my favorite black and white app. Now I have to give it up.
I need to update my review. I have been in contact with the developers and we have come to an agreement on a way forward. I very much appreciate their attention and efforts. They were very quick to respond and very helpful. Great customer support!!

Can’t buy individual filter?
I like this app, and would be happy to buy the only filter I am interested, ‘Ansel’ but I can see no way to buy an individual filter, and I am not prepared to spend £20 to get one filter. So I guess this is a hard pass for now…

Great app, enjoyed for 2 yrs now they are charging 24.99$ a bit too much. So many other apps similar quality for far less. Keep searching

Love this! Some of my best photos are taken with this app. I just noticed today that the Ansel Adams (AA) filter is locked in my app. Previously I have used it for multiple photos and I am so sad to find it locked. Is it a recent development?

Now suddenly after several years of use I have to buy ”all filters”. I was happy with the only free one that I used.
Other apps kindly grandfather in existing users in the situations. Not this one. I might have purchased more filters if I were prompted kindly that new users had to do this. But this was just poorly handled IMO. One star for a formerly 5 star app.

Hi there, we’re sorry you feel disappointed. To be able to keep working on the app, we’ve made a decision to change the way we give users a trial of the filters. Instead of having an unlimited trial of one filter, users can now try them all but only take 6 free shots. Generous ability to at least try before you buy.
Love the B&W filters and simplicity. Too many apps have overwhelming tweaks you can make. I like it has the filters and that’s it. Previews available and you can save original photo and or RAW at same time. Excellent results every time.
Zero lag on iPhone 13pro. Wish list would include ability to add grain (though you can do that elsewhere on other apps), interim zoom steps and portrait mode.
This has become my go to app for photos.

Best B&W Images
My go to app for shooting beautiful black and white images. I have a very long history with b&w photography - pre digital; had my own darkroom, both b&w and color. This app is closest to that rich visual for me. Thanks for creating Argentum.

Best black and white app out there but ......
I love this app. Great options for a range of tones and moods. But today I opened the app and all the "looks" I paid for were locked. Maybe it's a bug but I'm not paying r them again. Somebody needs to fix this.

It's a brilliant camera app. Takes great shots — in focus, sharp, well exposed — even when just using the screen shutter for quick exposures. Love the way the interface adapts to the phone orientation. Well done. Love the themed filters — based on the styles of real classic photographers — and I learned quite a bit. A quality piece of work.
