+ Small bug regarding those Hidden Gems staying hidden. We thought we could make it this far with keeping them hidden, but people started noticing. + That's it, have fun Winnipeg! See you on the trails!

February 6, 2017

+ Fixed a crash when you navigate to the detail page of a Gem.

January 27, 2017

+ Moved all the Gems off Parse.com and onto a new server environment. Don't worry, the gems haven't moved in your eyes. They are still out there, just far far away. It's pretty sad that no one has yet to claim every Gem. One day someone will, I guess. + Minor improvements

+ Please update the app before January 18th. Otherwise there will be unpredicatble errors being thrown around that date. Changes: + Preliminary steps for achieving a smooth transition when future upgrade work to the backend database is required. aka The work required during the winter months. + Maintenance upgrades

+ We shook up the leaderboard to give you some change. A lot of people didn't like that, so we removed the "randomize" code and changed it back to sort by points. + Minor bug updates.

+ Okay fine, you're allowed to reset your password. It's not like we forgot to add it, we just thought the world has finally came to the consensus that forgetting your password is a thing of the past. But, we received some complaints from a select audience, so there, it's in the Settings now. + Some amazing offline performance gains reached with this update. We are now storing + Notice you couldn't add a Gem in the "Add Gem" setting? Well now you can, as we now open Safari with the web form instead of the in-app webview. + Been in the zone with some great tunes on, then open the app and your music stops because of the Intro video that plays? That will never happen again. Our whole organization is sorry about this. + Removed an unnecessary and usually delayed prompt when you scan and claim a gem. It was the prompt that congratulated you on finding a Gem. But if you noticed, the Gem detail page that pops up behind that prompt already says "Well done, you found hidden gem". So we removed the prompt. + A whole 0 out of 10 people on our whole team noticed that the Gem's Detail pages do not include the 8-bit font that we styled the WHOLE app with. Well the designer was relieved when he was informed about this, and now it's fixed. + Updated the Apple Push certificates as they expired. The app has sent a grand total of ZERO Push messages so far. But, but maybe soon, we will push to you some secret codes to receive secret Gems that may or may not be displayed on the map, or maybe push to you a "secret" "Gem Blast" day. Who really knows. We don't yet either. + Added App Analytics to the app to see what's popular in the app.

+ Did you notice the Leaderboard not reflecting your hard earned Gems you just collected? Not to worry, they have always been saved. We uncovered a pesky bug where this would happen. It's fixed now. Refresh away! + Notice the Gem halo colour being the same for every Gem? Well every Gem does have the same colour, but we added functionality so some Gems can be displayed with a custom halo colour. Maybe these ones will be worth more points than just 1? Hmmm maybe... + Now we made it so you cannot claim "inactive" gems. For some Users, these we're sticking around in the cache and were able to be claimed, yet not shown on the map. + On that note, we thought the Game is a little too easy. So we stepped it up a notch, and thought it would be neat if you could scan for "invisible" Gems. These are Gems that are claimable but do not have a halo glowing on the map. Look out for hidden clues on Twitter, Facebook, your email, special plaques and even in other Gem's questions and answers for guidance. Good luck! + Some other minor bug improvements that you'll never have noticed.

+ We added some core functionality to help manage the dates when Gems are active and when they aren't. Yes, some Gems only live for certain seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, seasons and years. Good luck. + Oops, you were seeing Gems that were set to being hidden. Now you don't see them, but you will still see the gems you have already claimed. + Wondered why the background image was dark grey and didn't match the Map's styling. We fixed that for your eyes' sake. + If you have been playing the game for so long that you have claimed some of the test gems that have since been deleted, we discovered the app would not let you log back in and would crash since it thought you were cheating. We messed up and updated our intensive "cheating" checks so you should be able to log in again. + Have you realized that you've been stuck with old Gems and never been seeing any Gem additions to the map? Well we fixed this and now you can immediately see new Gems as they come off the press by restarting the app OR by pulling down and refreshing the "Hidden Gems" table listing. The phone restarts the app every so often in the background. You'll know that the app has refreshed when you have to go through the video and the intro steps again. + The app will now refresh it's caches of "claimed" gems when a user successfully claims at least one Gem. This will then accurately update the UI all over the place. + Removed hidden/banned gems from the "Hidden Gems" listing. + Removed the red scanning blob when you're not in range of Winnipeg. It now just has a pop up telling you to get closer to Winnipeg. + Updated the minimum zoom level to 9 instead of 10. This is here to prevent too many tiles being loaded. Mapbox charges per map load. But it didn't look good, so we increased the zoom level so you can see more of the surrounding area around Winnipeg. + If you even noticed, or probably might have never seen the little "dudeordudettewhoknows.png" icon for your location on the map, but it was never meant to disappear once you navigated to the Settings page and back. We fixed this for good. We swear.
