Game Changer
I’m into my third week of Gousto boxes and honestly think I’m a full-time covert. I follow the five boxes a week for one person and I’m loving the portion sizes and dish quality. Most recipes have enough for two so I can have a bigger portion or leftovers for lunch!
Delivery is perfect with the chilled ones coming in biodegradable packaging. Never usually any issues with quality and the one pack of veg I had an issue with, they gave me credit off my next box. Wonderful experience with customer service and hopefully don’t have to report anything again.
I have ADHD and find the whole process seamless. I find it hard to think about cooking and recipes and this takes all the stress away from that. Also there is no waste as the ingredients are delivered with just what you need. Gousto makes me enjoy cooking again and it’s just so simple with everything you need in front of you. Always a great selection of meals and I’m a vegetarian so usually I have less choice! You can also opt to skip boxes if the choice doesn’t take your fancy that week!

So disappointed
I have been ordering gousto mostly weekly since the beginning of lockdown. They have cancelled an order a few days before delivery. (Xmas/ new year week) I have been left without meals one week when they forgot to inform me that they had a problem at distribution and we were awaiting our delivery until 8.30pm ! Upon calling them they said sorry it’s not coming at all this week. Total disregard for the people awaiting meals and not having planned anything alternative for dinner.
Also on another occasion I’d forgot to order my meals and they sent me out two vegetarian and two lamb dishes as alternatives and this was supposed to be a good match to what I normally order. Total waste of a weeks money on gousto as I never order vegetarian dishes or lamb (only very occasionally when I’m away so hubby can have lamb) so it was a disappointment and the responses wasn’t great when I called up .
As I’ve been a loyal member for over 3 years I would have expected some sort of email or phone call to ask why I’d cancelled my membership! But no nothing as I’m obviously not a valued customer after all ! Shame on you gousto , so I’ve walked away .Show lessCath8201
Food OK, But Beware (Read Terms)
Ordered my first box to see if I liked the service. Arrived and food was boxed well and instructions mostly easy to follow, but not great in places. Food tasted really good. The next week I didn’t want to order a box, so didn’t select any recipes. I assumed I wouldn’t receive an order in that case, WRONG. If you don’t select anything Gousto select it for you and take payment automatically based on previous choices.
I immediately went on the live chat help, but the customer service staff member basically just told me that it was in the terms of service when I signed up and that they email several days before the order so you have time to cancel it (I did not received this) so there was nothing they could do.
They did offer a 30% refund on the box, and that was all they could do.
I did not want to use the service every week, due to work commitments. So I was planning on using maybe every other week, but after this box I didn’t want, I’ve cancelled the service and will go with another service should I wish to use something like this in the future.
I’m sure this catches many people out and in my eyes is a shady tactic to trick people and get more money.Show lessOliMaylen
