Superb

Explanatory. Professional. Does not repeat W3 so different wording makes subject easier even more interesting.

Top app

Getting better every day with this one :)

Great app for all experience levels

This app sets itself apart from the others by asking you after every exercise whether it was too easy, just right or too hard. This lets you quickly calibrate it to your preferred difficulty level.

This feature it’s awesome because it doesn’t waste time with endless beginner exercises. Also, you can do lessons on Linux commands which I think is unique to Enki.

Definitely worth it!

Not a fan of the new update

The new update doesn’t let me unlock games as it used to before. Why was this removed? The games were a fun way to consolidate knowledge

I’d rather this was a desktop app

Aside from the high price, I am not a fan of doing this sort of work on a phone. I like how there are many topics however this type of knowledge should be made public so users can take an active role in curating and improving content.

Additionally, the GitHub auth doesn’t work. It opens the github link in a web view safari instance (which is an unauthenticated session). This forces me to open the link in safari but then I get an error from enkidevs domain. This should not be so painful!

Very nice

The screen constraints issue was fixed with the last update. Upgrading to 5 stars for how nice this is now.

Response from developer

Hi, sorry to hear you're having issues with screen constraints. Could you email me some screenshots of the issues and confirm which device(s) you're using? My email address is tom@enki.com. Thanks!

It’s good for the very basics

It starts ok pretty good, in the Basics, like variables, Boolean, if statements and loops. However, when you start getting into even the next step, Fundamentals, the lessons become too fully packed. It suffers the same fate as most training: the instructor forgets what they didn’t know and starts dumping 4 times the information, expecting the students to be able to handle it. This being self-paced is better, as you can go research, but that’s supposed to be why you’re taking the course, so you don’t have to.

Challenging

This is a good, organized app, but it is too hard. Even on the Beginner setting, sophisticated information is thrown at the reader and then in a question seconds later. If you are an absolute beginner like me, I do not recommend this app. If you have some experience, I highly recommend it.

This could be the perfect app!!

This app would be amazing - and I would even be willing to pay for it - if two things happened:

1)you actually save my curriculum preferences when I click “Save”. I don’t know how many times I have gone in to say I’m not interested in React (we use Angular). Yet I continue to get workouts on the topic. This is my biggest pet peeve with this app.

2) the questions that are broken were fixed. It’s been more than a year of people complaining in the comments for some of these broken questions, and they still claim the wrong answer is right.

Great way to learn or stay sharp

Good learning rythm, mix of theory, practice and games.
