  • It’s ok

Interface is nice but scroll position between pages can be a pain as the scroll position on the warscrolls view isn’t persistent.
  • Almost but not quite there

There are two main things I want from this app: I want to build lists, and I want to reference lists while playing. This app does the first one well, and doesn’t do the second one functionally at all.

When referencing a list during a game, I have to click twice to open each unit’s warscroll to check that information, then click twice to get back to the list before clicking through twice to see another unit’s warscroll - meanwhile, if I want to see any added information (like a General’s Command Trait or Artefact, or any Spells I’ve given a Wizard) then I have to close the entire list and scroll through the battletome looking for this info before closing the battletome and opening the list again. This is highly impractical and takes ages.

There really needs to be a “View List” button that gives me my list with all the info (warscrolls and any added rules like mentioned above) on one page that I can scroll up and down without clicking to open or close anything! This is core functionality that’s been missing for years.

As for the rest - quite good! The UI is clean and easy to use, looks nice and isn’t slow. Having rules and battletomes in the app is convenient. The warscroll finder is endlessly useful and fun to browse - though might be even better if you could click on the picture of a mini to get an enlarged, full-screen version. Updates when points are changed or new models are released are a bit slow, but not unbearably so.

  • Maybe worth it, nope

The free app is good for looking at warscrolls. Problem is the app doesn't get updated in a timely manner. Once a new book comes out if the new warscrolls make it in within a month or two your in luck. Do not pay for a Azyr! It's about two months behind and the points are often wrong. Also most of azyr is bugged and will not give you accurate list making. Go to warhammer community website and make your lists there. Use this app only if your lucky enough for your warscrolls to be on there.

  • Poor

Doesn’t get timely updates. Many updates are wrong.
  • Waiting 4 months for an update

This app can be useful to access warscrolls.

However it has been 4 months since the last update to the app - including the paid for segment. There has been no updates to the points since the general’s handbook and there are several glitches in other areas. This makes the paid for list builder useless.

Overall the app feels neglected and the customers who pay a monthly subscription equally so.

  • Why?

Enjoy the app but was abandoned in March in favour of 40k app which was released as incomplete garbage.

Aside from being time consuming how hard is it to keep the data in this app up to date. Could have had one person doing that in march and this would have been up to date late but not neglected for more than an entire quarter of a year. Warscroll builder is up to date. How many people manage that?

  • Pretty useful, needs more regular updates

Pros - Having all the warscrolls for the game in one place is very useful. Purchasing digital books is great, as you have everything in one location. Building an army and having this application note everything and help error check you is a wonderful feature, and the price of just 1 dollar a month is fair.

Cons - updates. The game will get updated but this app could wait a week to get the update, or even 2 months, as experienced with GHB2020, an important publication changing many elements of the game. Buying the digital copy of rule books does not entitle you to a pdf copy, though they cost the same. A different digital venue is required to buy purely digital that is non compatible with this application. Games workshop is king of making you buy something you already own multiple times. There are missing rules if you failed to purchase a battletome or rule book. Also, other publications, like white dwarf magazine articles or limited edition characters aren’t always put in here correctly, or often, at all. I’d also like to see eratas or designers commentaries added as a free download or a note of “updated” to the relevant publications to be sure I know that I am playing the most up to date version of the game.

  • Subscription keeps breaking

Every few weeks the app fails to recognize my subscription. I have to delete the app and reinstall it to fix the issue. There should be a way to fix it in app or re- sign in. Fix that annoyance and this will be a great tool.
  • Update?

Hard to justify paying even $1 per month for this app when it never gets updated.
  • Has potential, yet disappointing for a paid app.

This app has so much potential but is let down by a swath of mistakes.

The list building feature is fantastic as it lets you add weapon options, artefacts, traits, spells etc to your heroes and units. To look up warscrolls is also very handy.

What let’s it down is all the bugs, Seraphon have been out 5 months and there are points that are wrong, battalions missing and errors in the List building where it asks for a dependency you have already selected!

All in all doesn’t justify £0.99 per month from its countless users. Added to the fact GW have stated that Azyr won’t be fixed anytime soon due to the app team working on the new 40K app... how about fix the existing app before rushing to put out a subpar 40K equivalent for a cash grab!
