very enjoyable

Love the artwork and hardboiled style but might have preferred a bit more detail on the faces, since they were the majority of what you looked at. Kudos to dev for a unique game. Biggest issue is the tedious nature of going back and forth between screens every time you wanted to make a point and/or ask a question when talking to characters. If there were a lot of questions it was pretty annoying. Then you had to click on statements or evidence, etc and click to make the point, maybe some more dialogue then click to go to notes to make another, click on statements, scroll to find it, etc. The contrast between some of the colored text and the dark background was also very bad in a few cases, making it hard to read the text. An overall excellent effort, however, and would like to see more like it. Also enjoyed the historical references. Am interested to try some of this dev's other offerings.

Interesting gameplay

Nothing too exciting. You go around talking to people and get clues. It was fun nonetheless. Maybe a bit too straightforward, but there were a few tricky parts that got me stuck for awhile.

Well Done

I really enjoyed this. It is like a cross between a pulp detective novel, a choose your own adventure book, and a point and click adventure game. It is clear a lot of work went int this Indie game. The storyline was engaging and the clues and conclusion all hung together. It is set in the early 20s in San Francisco. It is well researched and has a LOT of historical easter eggs woven in. I encourage new players to savor it— take time to explore the settings and talk to cab drivers. I hope the developer follows up with a sequel.

Such a great game!

I hope there is a sequel or the developers continue to make more games like this! It was fun to play, engaging and really well done. I love the character expressions and the historical content rolled into the game so effortlessly

Great game!

Beautiful design and an engaging mystery presented with style and clever storytelling. A+

Fun!

Thanks for making this. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Had to look up a walkthrough once but it was because I missed clicking on something in the billiards room.

Amazing game, only one bug.

I was founding a game to play a little while ago, found this game, watch the trailer, liked it, I decided to download it.
First of all, I want to talk about the soundtrack, the music is really smooth, it’s jazz from the 1200s, I like it. The art style of the game is basic, only represent people with silhouette, nothing really good here but it left me a little satisfied. The gameplay is just finding clues, contradict people’s statements, trying to find the murder, it’s nice but being honest only a handful of people like detective games like this. Although, when I was playing the game, whenever you travel to other places, there is a chance that the screen where you wick which places you want to go will be dark, yes, totally dark which I had to hold my finger trying to search for the place’s name I want to go.
If the bug doesn’t exist in this game, I would have give it 5 stars, but I think a 4 stars is perfect as a rating for this game
If you like detective games that involves real detective work, and if you are patient and your skills of conclusions is great (basically being smart) then you will like this game. Otherwise you have the choice of don’t need to download it.

Where's the ACTUAL game?

It takes a full thirty seconds for the game to open. Then the start button didn't actually start the game, I had to hit all around the start button about seven times for anything to happen. Lastly, I didn't get past the second screen, it just froze up after I read the few beginning lines, even though I tapped all over the screen. What is the point of this stupidity?! Deleted. Thank God I didn't pay good money for this crap.
