Good game-Confusing save?

Update: I played today to be sure and yes, I press the pigeon icon. It’s just as confusing as it was on day one(no updates solution) and because of the simple mixup, today was the first time in nearly a year playing this game. Honestly, by now, many more games have grabbed my attention since. My father once told me (after my first girlfriend dumped me): “Son, it’s the little things that count.” I believe he was right.

As simple as this game is..it has great graphics and animations, yet, when I back out to take a call or get back to work; the game does not save. I’m eager to see what kind of additions this game will receive in future updates but a quick pick up and play game like this NEEDS an auto save, save, something...please allow saves so I can give this game the better score it deserves.

Response from developer

Hello and thank you for reviewing the game! I wanted to follow up on your "no save" issue - does the game actually restart when it goes into the background, or is it because you are clicking the "New Game" menu button (the one with the pigeon on it) instead of the "Resume" button (the one with the back-arrow)? I ask because I had someone else reporting the same issue, and in their case they clicked the wrong menu item (I have plans to add labels to the buttons to make them more clear). Just trying to make sure you get the "quick pick up and play" experience you are after. Thanks again!

Simple, yet wonderful

I love this game, mainly because I love pigeons myself. I feed them in my garden, in the park and have a habit of spending a lot of time taking photos of them. So when I saw this game on the front page of the App Store, I knew I had to get it, it was as if it was made for me.

The graphics are beautiful and charming, looking realistic yet having a dream-like quality. The pigeons are great, the variety of seeds and junk to eat is cool, and the random events in later waves are also nice to look at. The animations are also beautiful, with the pigeons moving fluidly.

The game play is very simple, yet quite entertaining. However, I have two potential issues; the movement can be a bit clunky sometimes especially when trying to turn your pigeon around and there is no instruction or tutorial on how to actually play. It took me three goes to finally figure out how to chase away other pigeons successfully, as in previous goes I did it but couldn't do it consistently. However these issues are minor and it's easy to get used to them.

One suggestion that I would make relates to something I find really interesting about pigeons; the variety of colours and patterns they come in. While the game already includes lots of wonderful pigeons (which makes me think this addition would be relatively easy to add), you are always playing as the same pigeon. Being able to pick a colour pattern for your pigeon or even being given a random pigeon every game would be really cool.

Thanks for making such a good looking game about my favourite birds.

An art masterpiece that you can play

The artwork is a delight and gameplay is surprisingly challenging and addicting. This is a zen-like experience of being a pigeon while you battle swarms of hungry pigeons and various other creatures to eat food tossed by unseen people around you. Only missing ingredient that would enhance this game is a global scoreboard.
