Can’t use anymore
I used to use this app for my school district as a first app for aac because it was free and easy to program, especially for families who use Android devices. BUT… now it needs a subscription! My School district can’t purchase subscriptions for apps for single students. Nevermind, cboard. Can’t use you anymore. Get off the subscription wagon please.

Was great
My daughter is a part-time AAC user, she has verbal shutdowns a lot at school, due to several factors such as anxiety, overwhelm, exhaustion, or overstimulation. The only reason she asked me for this app specifically was because it was free to have global symbols. She liked to add symbols like bluey characters, sonic characters, and more global symbols. But as we were about to add a new symbol onto her board, there suddenly was no global symbols even though we had it activated. There was no more bluey, no more sonic, no more global symbols no matter what we looked up. The only reason we got this app was so that my daughter could look at all the creative symbols people made. Now she can’t have the pictures she wants on her communication device, and if it’s just because we aren’t paying, I am not paying for something that my insurance does not cover due to it being a subscription. Bring back the global symbols for your users to have more creativity and actually connect with their board!

Basic features behind subscription paywall.
dude come on I’m about to be homeless and so are so many other disabled in this country. I do not have money for your subscription. There was absolutely no communication given to the user (me) about how long the free trial would be, or that I was even starting a free trial by using the app. All communication I was given before having basic features blocked (copying/pasting tiles and voice recording, which are essential and basic features) was that a subscription was needed for public boards. I ignored it because I never intended to publish my personal communication board. For the love of god if you’re going to buy into the subscription model like everyone else will you at least tell us what we’re getting ourselves into before we get used to using the app to literally speak? You’d think an app for disabled communication would communicate this clearly.

It was amazing, until I opened the app today and some of my folders had disappeared and my layout was all messed up and things were missing and there doesn’t seem to be any reason as to why.
