Glorified web browser, but without all of the features that you need in a web browser.
This app is just bookmarks to all of AACC’s important websites contained on a single page. On paper this sounds fine. However, if you ever decide to change what app you’re using on your iOS or iPadOS device, it force closes its extremely sub-par built in web browser, and sends you back to the home page. This feature is annoying, and does not add anything to this app’s security.
The “Update Available,” tag at startup is proof to me that those who supposedly maintain this app have given up a long time ago, and do not wish to improve it. There has not been an update to this app in my entire tenure at AACC, and it has since remained in its half baked state.
Hire some actual developers, and create actual iOS versions of your apps. It is 2025, I should be able to use biometrics to sign into an app at the bare minimum. Stop being lazy and start building an application worth using over opening Safari, Chrome, or Firefox, and accessing it myself. Build an application worth recommending to students. In its current state, I would recommend new students stray away from it.

Links never work
The app is always stating there is an update and there never is. If you leave the app temporarily it put you back to access canvas. The list of links dont work half the time. Then there are links that are listed that are obsolete. Navigating is not the easiest. This app needs to be re-done entirely.

Fake “Update Available”
Every time I log on, a pop up says there’s an update. But there is none.
If you open a different app and go back, it doesn’t stay on the page you were on, it automatically puts you back on the “Access Canvas” page.

Needs a lot of work.
Half the time my login credentials won’t work. I know they’re correct because I use autofill from my saved passwords on my iPhone. Also, when it does work and I get signed in, a pop up appears saying that a new update is available and when I click on update, it just takes me to the page for the app in the App Store and there’s no actual update available and I already have the latest update. I’ve even deleted the app and reinstalled it and that didn’t make a difference. This app needs a lot of work. It should be made into an actual app and not a browser within an app. Make this an actual mobile version of MyAACC and not just an internet browser put into an app…

some how worse than the website
the website is more confusing than the MVA website.. but also the app will constantly tell you on launch there is an update. shocker there isn’t.. it’s a mobile port of the website that takes longer to work, doesn’t have an option to remember your password. harder to use than the website and will log you out quicker if you’re out of the app for “too long” about 3-5 minutes so if you were weighting a discussion post or so, and needed to check on another source. forget about it.. use the website. who ever is in charge of this app. you need a new job but besides the lack of effort and functionality at-least there is a app. a useless app.
1. if you would simply add a function to remember your login.
2. not have it log you out within the dumb 3 minutes that we aren’t in the app.
3. and fix that stupid calendar, then it might be WORTH WHILE, no wonder the reviews are so accurate.
