Never understood the dice puzzle

Even after watching the walkthrough I can’t make it make sense. Not by position of the colors, not by adding them, etc. No explanation given.

I had zero issues. Easy game except I could not find was the numbers for the hexagon. Had to use the walkthrough to get those. I still don’t know where they got the numbers even after watching so I just entered them.

Update. My brightness was turned down so I didn’t see the numbers.

Love this developers games. I am having problems with the 4 scale. I counted on the clue how many click to move down. Not right. I watched walkthrough counted each click did same nothing.
