Writing Proficiency
This is an amazing app! My daughter is only in headstart and already can write all of the alphabets thanks to ABC Zoo! At first I had to tell her where to begin like start at the top, slant to the right, slant to the left, etc. Now she does it all by herself using a stylus pen on my IPad. I believe this will make it just that much easier when she begins to write on paper with a regular pencil. This was after only one week of using this app. She will write over and over without getting bored because she loves to change the colors of the pencil and write in different colors. She is learning and not even realizing she is learning, she thinks it's a game!:) As a teacher, I would recommend this app to any parent of a child who is able to recognize letters, letter sounds, and understands pictures that begin with the same letters they will be writing. My daughter makes her own game as she writes each letter. She will tell me the letter, sound it makes, the picture present and other things that start with that letter, and she can now distinguish the difference between capital and lowercase letters. I would give this app a 4 1/2 rating only because I wish the app would tell the children if they were going in the wrong direction in writing the letters and this app doesn't do that. The adult has to sit and tell their child go in this direction, do this line first, etc. Where ever the child writes the color just goes there it doesn't correct, so that the only downfall. Other than that, in my opinion, it is a great app. It has been very helpful and an educational + for my little. Great for young kids
Great for helping kids learn to recognize and form letters! I would only suggest that the pictures could be saved from page to page, and that a stylus could be used to help kids learn proper writing technique. Overall, a nice app!
Fun but sound issues
My 2year old loves this app! Sound, pictures, can draw with finger onscreen... I love it because my child is learning the alphabet - both recognition and drawing them. My only issue is that after upgrading iOS, this app no longer has any sound.
It's ok
The app is okay to teach how to write letters. But it should say the letter and animal so the kid know what they are learning.
Not bad for a free app
Would prefer something else for V and X. Maybe V is for vulture, and X is for Xray fish?
Ads spoil it for children
Looks like it might be good, but the ads mean a child can't really use the app as they keep hitting the banners! Renders the app useless.
Love it
My 4 yr old loves this app. She always ask to play. The more she plays the better she gets at writing the letters on her own including recognizing the letters as well.

Not bad. It's good to help them learn to form the letters, but doesn't keep them very interested.
