This app needs an update badly It makes my phone overheat every time I use it. It doesn’t have a settings option to adjust the lighting

Horrific
App is so ******* bad I can’t even read stories without this app taking me to a random browser link I did not click on trying to install malware on my device.
If we pretend that isn’t happening, then we can pivot to the embarrassing amount of spelling and grammatical errors in almost every one of ABC12’s news stories. It’s almost laughable until you realize actual money and a certain amount of trust is invested in these stations.
Now we can move to what stories they are actually covering. And it’s ******* asinine. Super biased news source, **** this place.

This app is not updated on a timely basis. Weekends are really bad.

The first thing you will notice beyond the terrible interface is how many taps it takes to get to the live broadcast. If your lucky enough to make it that far then the next thing you’ll notice is how quick the program crashes. This company should fire their I.T. People, unless their goal is to pay a minimum wage. If I could give a zero star I would.

Crappy App
This app is not user friendly. Weather radar is junk and never works.
School closings
The new app has the school closings. Go into settings and set to favorite. It is there.
Hate the new app
This new app doesn’t update news articles timely the weather isn’t like the old app Can’t get weather forecast like I use to. Old app was way Better Now I have to find a different app for My News and weather

Keeps crashing. I give up. Now watching Channel 5 News mobile with no problems.
Disappointed
Very poorly written app. The school closing links don’t work. When trying to submit a closing the save button is black just like the background so you can’t see it. I don’t think the programmers tested the app at all. Hardly usable.
Poor quality
The links never work and when they do, it stays on the same page that you visited whether it was one day ago or last year. Then, when you try to refresh, it keeps showing old data. Frustrating as heck.
New app
Since the new app update, we can’t even get the news! Very disappointed.

This new update is awful! Either go back to the old app or employ new developers. Not user friendly, confusing, and did I mention…terrible!
No more school closing preference!
Not happy at all with the new app!!! Where is the customizing if being able to get notified when your school is closed???? Schools are closed today and can’t even bring any school closing up :(

Have to Manually Add & Customize Sections
With the new 2021 updated app, the default settings do not include most of the news & sections that the old app had on the Home Page. BUT, very east to customize in the app’s settings to add school closings in the “weather” section once you add it by tapping the green plus sign, along with adding your location & favorite locations. There are dozens of additional sections & features available to chose from to add to the Home Page, remove what you don’t want, and arrange the order of the sections on the Home Page by tapping, holding, and moving them with the gray horizontal bars located to the right of the section’s names in settings. You can always add, remove, or rearrange them again at anytime after.
With all the negative reviews, abc12 should update the app again placing all the sections automatically on the Home page, then let the user customize if they want. Also makes the developer look bad.

can’t change location
for some reason this doesn’t allow you to have weather for your location, which is very frustrating. if you just want weather use abc12weather instead. and for school closings to show you need to “edit” it into your feed. only giving one star until y’all figure out how to fix this.
Location unavailable
Really disappointed that the only location available is Flint. We live north of Bay City but can’t customize the map or weather settings. Is ABC12 saying don’t use this app if you don’t live in Flint?
