There is an enormous problem with this app that people need to be aware of and it’s not a technical problem. The app was created by & is owned by a Malaysian company.
Malaysia is a Muslim country. I’ve spent time there. Only ethnic Chinese and Indians are allowed to practice other religions. All Malays must be Muslim. If anyone is caught proselytizing a Malay and helping them convert to another faith, both parties face the death penalty.
I have tremendous respect for Muslims & know many absolutely incredible Muslims that put American Christians to shame, particularly the martyrs and survivors in Gaza. So my concern is not due to prejudice.
Rather, the question is: since Christianity is heresy in Islam, why are Muslim Malaysians running a Bible app for Christians? There can’t be enough money in it to risk the ire of the government and imams. And they can’t possibly be Malay Christians and still located in Malaysia. What’s their motive?
I’m deleting the app now.
