Choosing a film should not take longer than watching it. Most apps hand you a wall of posters and leave the hard part to you. Absolute asks two small questions instead: how do you feel right now, and what films do you already love? Then it hands you three. Best match first, and under each one a plain line telling you why it's there. Three is a decision. Three hundred is an evening lost. How it works? • Write how you feel, in your own words. "Something about a road trip", "I want to be scared", "a film about a dog". It understands you. • Or tap a mood. Calm, sad, tense, curious. • Add a film or two you love as references, and the picks lean toward their taste. • Get three films with an honest reason for each. Not convinced? Ask for three more. Made for deciding • Save a film and it becomes a DVD on your shelf, coloured by its own poster. • Mark what you've seen and pass on what you're not feeling. It remembers, and won't repeat itself. • Dig deeper when you want: every film opens with its cast and director, and every actor and director opens with the films they're known for. There's no account to create, because we don't need to know who you are. We built Absolute because we kept losing whole evenings to scrolling. We just wanted our evenings back.
