About
Can adults still learn absolute pitch? Start training — hear a note and name it.
No reference tone, just your ear: is that a C or an F#? It was long believed that absolute pitch (also called perfect pitch) can only be learned in early childhood. But adult training studies from 2019 to 2025 found that some adults, after around 20 hours of structured practice, reached the same test standard as people born with it. This app follows the methods from those studies, so you can practice 10 minutes a day.
TRAINING BASED ON RESEARCH
• One new note at a time: start with C only and answer "Other" for everything else. Unlock the next note after 90% accuracy over your last 20 answers, with a median response under 2.5 seconds.
• Learn note names, not piano keys: each note appears in three octaves, so you learn its "color", not its height.
• Break relative pitch: a second of noise between questions stops you from comparing with the previous note.
• Accurate and fast: absolute pitch means knowing instantly, so response time counts too.
• Mixed timbres: piano-like, soft, and pure tones help your skill carry over to real instruments.
APP-ONLY FEATURES
• Daily practice reminder: pick your time and keep going through the recommended 8 weeks.
• Your progress stays safe: it's stored on your iPhone and included in iCloud backups — unlike website data, which browsers may clear.
• Works offline, and plays sound even in Silent mode.
• The 12-note road: one stop per note, so you always see how far you've come.
• Daily goal ring, answer streaks, and a celebration every time you unlock a new note.
SEE YOUR PROGRESS
• 12-note test: each note three times, no feedback, compared with the research benchmark (90%).
• Mistake log: tracks which notes you confuse. Mistake review plays the note you chose, then the correct one, so you can hear the difference.
• 8-week practice calendar, total answers, and test score chart.
• Result card: turn your test score into an image to share.
PRICING
• Free: training for the first 3 notes (C, G, E), unlimited 12-note tests, and mistake review.
• Full version: one-time purchase unlocks all 12 notes. No subscription, no ads.
PRIVACY
The app collects no personal data. No sign-up, no ads, no tracking.
Headphones recommended. In the studies, most people improved clearly, but only about one in seven learned all 12 notes. This is practice that takes time, and results are not guaranteed.
Interface languages: English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese.
