About

Acadenda turns a conference programme into your conference. Import the PDF the organisers sent you. Acadenda reads it on your device — days, sessions, rooms, talks, speakers — and builds a schedule you can actually navigate. No retyping, no tab-hunting through 60 pages on a phone in a corridor. WHAT IT DOES Today Opens on what's happening now and what's next. Three views: My Day for the talks you starred, Recommended for the ones worth your time, Everything for the full programme. Star a session and a reminder arrives before it begins. Recommendations that explain themselves Tell Acadenda your field, subfields, methods and keywords, and it scores every talk against them. Each recommendation shows you why it matched. Nothing is a black box, and nothing is sent anywhere to compute it. A presentation timer for whoever is running the room A full-screen countdown to put in front of the speaker — a session you're chairing, a student's practice run, your own. Set the length, then set what the board says as the time runs down: a friendly face at ten minutes, an hourglass at five, please-wrap-up at one. The clock keeps counting past the end so everyone can see how far over it has gone. Follow the people you came to hear Pick researchers from the programme and their talks are pinned into Recommended, ranked above every other kind of match. A people database, built from the programme Every speaker and chair becomes an entry when you import. Affiliations, ORCID, and the notes you took on their talks all gather on one page. Near-duplicate spellings are flagged for you to merge — never merged silently — and you can add someone the programme missed. Notes in whatever form the moment allows Type, handwrite with Apple Pencil, or record a voice note and have it transcribed on device. File each one as a question to ask, a paper to read, a methods detail, or a remark. Talk notes appear on the speaker's page too. Your agenda, three ways A day calendar laid out by time, a scrollable timeline that groups the parallel sessions, and your starred list — whichever suits where you're standing. Your devices, in step Conferences, plans and notes sync through your own private iCloud account, recordings and source PDF included. Plan on the iPad, walk into the room with your iPhone. Share a parsed programme Spent twenty minutes getting a schedule right? Send it to a colleague as a file. They get the sessions, talks and speakers. They do not get your stars, your notes, or anything else of yours. PRIVACY, PLAINLY There is no Acadenda account, no sign-in and no server of ours. Your programmes, notes, recordings and profile live on your devices and in your private iCloud. Voice transcription runs on device. The only outbound request Acadenda ever makes is an optional speaker lookup against OpenAlex, off by default, and it sends nothing but the name you asked about. FREE, AND STAYING FREE Every feature works without paying, forever. Nothing is locked, nothing expires, nothing nags. If Acadenda saved you an afternoon with a conference PDF, there's an optional tip jar in Settings — framed, appropriately, as a decision letter. BUILT FOR Researchers, PhD students, and anyone who attends multi-track academic conferences and has ever stood in a hallway wondering which room to be in. Acadenda is built by one researcher who got tired of the PDF.

A presentation timer, for whoever is running the room A full-screen countdown to turn toward the speaker — a session you are chairing, a student's practice run, your own. Set the length, then set what the board says as the time runs down: a friendly face at ten minutes, an hourglass at five, please-wrap-up at one. The clock keeps counting past the end so everyone can see how far over it has gone, and it keeps running while you use the rest of the app. Reminders before the sessions you starred Star a talk and a notification arrives before it begins. Nothing to configure, and changing your plan reschedules them. Your devices, in step Conferences, plans and notes now sync through your own private iCloud account — including voice recordings and the source PDF. There is still no Acadenda account and no server of ours. Acadenda on the Mac The same app, now on macOS, reading the same iCloud. Plan at your desk, walk into the room with your iPhone. People, tidied - Add someone by hand when the programme missed them. - Find and merge duplicate spellings, and separate them again afterwards. - Filter by whether a person is in a programme at all, so the records a deleted programme left behind can be looked at rather than silently kept. Fixes - Typing an interest into My Profile and moving on used to discard it unless you pressed +. Whatever you type is now kept. - Importing a programme by drag and drop. - Notes are clearer to VoiceOver, and status text now meets contrast. - Alerts on the documents screen sometimes refused to dismiss. - Re-importing a conference could leave duplicate people behind. - Navigation could get stuck after opening a conference on iPad. - The timer board's countdown was cramped by its emoji in landscape.
