Bought a year, don’t know if I’ll buy a second.
I was hopeful for the return of Dark Sky, and I liked enough of what I got in the first version to buy a year after tiring of Carrot Weather. But it feels like this app’s development has fully stalled very quickly. Things like live activities and watch complications remain missing, which makes the widget bug (where it constantly defaults to Cambridge, to which I am nowhere near) harder to accept when I just want a glance and not the full app experience.
It's still my default weather app, and I give it 4 stars here, because the full app experience IS good. It faithfully reports the weather, is good with precipitation alerts (not always great with them, but I feel like no app is), and the design is both pleasing and functionally effective. But I had to pair this subscription with a re-subscription to Carrot because that app, much as I don't care for it in general, does a lot of things I'm not sure this one has any plans to do.
I hope I'm wrong. If I am, I'll keep going with this one.

Didn’t live up to the hype
I have been using Acme weather for about five months. Let me preface by saying I am not in a remote or rural location, I’m in a large midwestern city. I like the UI and the data seems pretty accurate, but it gets it wrong nearly as much as Apple weather.
If this was a one-time paid app or even a free app with ads, that wouldn’t be an issue, but I’m not paying $25/year for barely any difference from the system default.
YMMV.

Incredible successor to Dark Sky
I’ve missed Dark Sky so much, but this is a worthy replacement for it. The design is clean and easy to navigate. I am able to get all the information I need quickly.
Fine, but behind other apps
This app is perfectly fine. I subscribed even. I just find myself never using it. It doesn’t offer anything that other weather apps don’t already have. I need more customization, more weather maps, more data, etc. This is great for a quick look at the weather but not really usable for any serious meteorology or prediction.
