Now in Europe!
Been waiting for this dark sky was a brilliant app and this is more of what made it so great.
That said not really overly
Enamoured with having to drop a years sub on a weather app before I can get a real feel for how accurate it is. Would appreciate a monthly option

They’re back - and now in the UK/Europe too
I’ve missed Dark Sky for a long time, and now it’s reincarnated as Acme Weather.
Feels instantly familiar and based on the team’s past performance, this is a new app to trust.
Love the alternative forecast lines that help show how close the apps own forecast is to the data sources the algorithm uses is genius.
Lots of weather data available if you want to view it too.
Big thanks.

Thank goodness
Since Dark Sky, I have not been able to find an accurate weather app. Very happy
Welcome back, you’ve been missed
Dark Sky was fantastic then Apple bought it and well did what big companies do.
Acme Weather easy and so far accurate. Community reports will be amazing once more user find and use Acme, it’s like Waze reports but for weather.
But, visually it looks dated and the strange beige accent colour reminds of a 1950’s American home and Claude AI, it’s not a nice choice.
Then it’s the subscription price. £25 a year when your competitor Carrot is £29.49 a year and providers significantly more. Maybe once Acme has established itself and has more features they can justify the price, but I can’t yet.
Most importantly it’s made by the same people that made the original Dark Sky app, so we know we’re in good hands.
What I’d like to see:
- Better value for subscription price or a subscription price that matches the apps features
- Little bit of customisation would be nice. I dislike the accent colour used in dark mode
- More modern feel to UI
- Decide what is shown on the Home Screen map. It’s fixed to temperature which I find useless. Cloud and rain radar would be more useful.
- Better lock screen widgets
- Lighting for Europe. If Carrot can do it, Acme must be able to
- and of course the return of the vertical weather view that made Dark Sky so visually amazing to use.

Beautiful, fast, well thought out
Nicest weather app I’ve used since dark sky went away (same devs). Easy to read at a glance, fast to load and loads of detail if you want to drill down further. My only request would be the option to have a white background option for the widget as the tint messes with my homescreen setup!
