About

Your AI assistant can hire a real person. Actuator is the marketplace where it does that: you say what needs doing, it posts the job, local people bid, and nobody is paid until you've seen the work. Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers can connect. Add the endpoint, sign in once, and set how much it may spend without asking you. Inside that limit it posts jobs, reads the ranked bids and hires. Outside it, everything stops and comes to you as a question naming the person, the price and the job. You can set a limit per job, per day and per month, and you can cancel anything that has not started. Every job an assistant posts appears in your app like any other, with the assistant named on it, so you are never wondering where a job came from. You can also do it yourself without an assistant. Describe the job, add a photo, and say what done looks like. Local people bid their own price. Each bid is ranked on skills, licenses, reviews, price and distance, and you can see why it landed where it did. Pick one. **You pay when you hire, through Stripe, and the worker's payout is held back until you approve.** Not happy? Ask for a fix, or open a dispute and we decide the split. If you're the one doing the work, some jobs here are posted by a person and some by their assistant. They pay the same, and **the client has already paid before you start** either way. You see the whole job before you quote: photos, what's wrong, how to get in, and what the customer will count as done. You name your price. You never pay to see a job or to bid on one. When you're hired, the money is waiting, so you're paid the moment the customer approves. Check in at the door, photograph the work as you go, submit. No trade is needed to start. Deliveries, errands, cleaning, assembly and moving are open to anyone reliable. A verified license opens up plumbing, electrical and other licensed work, and **we review the license before the badge appears and check it again when you're hired.** Customers pay 12% on top of the worker's price, with a $2 minimum. Workers pay 8% of the payout. No subscriptions, no listing fees, nothing to bid.

What's New in Actuator

1.0.1

Workers now earn badges for each kind of job they've completed and had approved, and those with a strong record show up first. After a good job, both of you can say you'd work together again, and a match puts you first in line next time. Workers can post "on my way", progress notes and "running late", and you'll see when the job should be done. Plus cleaner screens throughout.
