Works
Works well! No issues on my end
Does NOT work!
Bought a Sony DSX-GS80 receiver that advertised this app. Installed the app and it would not connect to the car at first. Once I got it connected I couldn’t change any settings because of the audio source…my phone. Changed source and now it doesn’t connect at all, just says turn on Bluetooth or download the Sony Music player (something like that) which doesn’t give you any ability to modify the sound settings on the receiver.

Waste of time
No good
It Works!
I don’t know what people were complaining about, but this application is still working strong in Mid 2022.
So disappointed. Lacks true DSP features
I feel like I was bamboozled and can’t believe I wasted my hard earned money on the Sony XM-GS6DSP 6 channel mobile audio amplifier. They label this as a DSP amp. It’s far from it. I don’t know where to direct my frustration, the amplifier, or the App!!!
Let me start here. You have ZERO control over crossover points. This is ridiculous and in my mind a complete abuse of the term DSP. In order to use the DSP feature, you need to turn off the high pass filters on the front and rear channels, basically sending from what I can tell, full audio to the front and rear speakers, and the app has absolutely no ability to set crossover points. So you’re left with a muddy sounding system with a subwoofer just overlapping the lower frequencies.
On a typical 6 channel amp with no Bluetooth or DSP gimmicks, you’d find the ability to set a high pass crossover point at a minimum on the 4 channels to match the sub. On this amp you’re only able to use the high pass crossover on the front channels at 500 hz and above. This is insane.
Completely and utterly frustrated. Garbage. The only thing that would fix this in my mind is to allow users to pick crossover points on the first 4 channels. Without that, it’s not a DSP amp. Setting balance and fade does not constitute something being called a DSP. For that matter, nearly every car manufactured in the past 50 years has DSP.

Utterly Useless
Sony simply aren’t learning from past mistakes, are they? Won’t connect via BT no matter what we try. Awful.
Dumb
You have to open the app every time you start your car. If you don’t it disables your stereo controls until you do.
Not working
Keeps asking to connect to bluetooth when already connected wont load app iphone 6
Sketchy at the very best and blinding
What on earth is going on with the blinding white of this and SongPal? Why are two apps needed for one purpose? After 15 minutes following the RSX-GS9 vaguely poorly written instructions, and after many reconnections with Bluetooth, the app finally told me I needed this dog of an app. Please.. $1500 for a hifi head unit that uses "this" for a selling point? Sony I implore you to work on this SongPal app. And what was wrong with how it looked before. Now it's unusable in bright black and white.

Unreliable
Great app "when" it wants to work. App disconnects and refuses to reconnect to the headunit when the phone is still paired and playing music.
