About

Advanced Verbal Lab isn't a fluency app. It's for people who already work in English but still hit a wall at the professional or academic level. At that level, much of communication depends on abstract vocabulary. And abstract words are often the hardest to retain: there is nothing concrete to picture, so memorizing a translation or definition may not be enough. Advanced Verbal Lab approaches that problem in two ways: through word structure, and through context. PHASE I: WORD STRUCTURE Word Structure builds abstract vocabulary from meaning parts. Each abstract word is paired with a medical term that shares one of those parts. Medical vocabulary often breaks down unusually clearly, and it describes things you can picture: a body, a tissue, a movement, a position. Learn what the shared part means in the medical word, then carry that structure into the abstract word. Instead of memorizing 99 unrelated definitions, you begin to see a smaller set of meaning parts recombining across different words. HOW IT WORKS Each word begins with three pages. First comes the structure: the medical example, the part both words share, and then the abstract word. Before seeing the definition, you are asked to work out what it might mean. Next comes the quiz, where you commit to an answer. Then comes the explanation, with usage, collocations, near-synonyms, and a real example sentence. After the first encounter, repeat rounds are quiz-only. The supporting pages remain available whenever you need them, but recall does more of the work. When you finish a volume, every word returns in one final round. A word counts as mastered only when you can recognize it quickly, without a hint. WHAT'S INCLUDED — Free Sampler: 7 words, no purchase required — Volume I: 46 words — Volume II: 46 words — Complete Word Structure: both volumes, one price 99 words in total, each with its medical pairing, structural breakdown, collocations, near-synonyms, and an example sentence. MY SENTENCES Write your own sentence for each word as you learn it. There is no AI grading and no score attached. It is simply a place to use the word yourself before meeting it again in review. PHASE II: CONTEXT Context takes the other route. Instead of building meaning from the word itself, you meet an unfamiliar abstract word inside a sentence and work out what it means from the language around it. You first infer the meaning from context, then meet the word again until the meaning holds. Formula Flash runs alongside Context, drilling the same word structures three ways for speed and collecting missed items in REVIEW. A free Sampler is included here too. TWO WAYS INTO MEANING Word Structure asks: What can the word itself tell you? Context asks: What can the sentence around it tell you? Together, they train two different ways of reaching meaning without relying immediately on a translation or dictionary definition. WHAT'S NEXT Phase III: Judgment is planned as the next step: choosing between closely related words, understanding the boundary between them, and explaining why one fits where another does not. PRIVACY No account. No login. No data collection. Purchases are handled entirely through Apple's App Store. Nothing is tracked, and nothing is sold.
